At present,the research on turfgrass is still in a preliminary stage in our country, and especially in drought-resistance and water economy field, existing mass of blanks. Drought-resistance and water economy characteristics of turfgrasses have important significance on cuting down the present situations, "grow easily and cultivate difficultly" arisen from using too large quantities of water to nourish turfgrasses and to reduce the loss caused by drought. This article takes two kinds of turfgrasses from XinjiangAgricultural University (Xinnong No 1 Bermudagrass\Kashi Bermudagrass) and a kind of turfgrass(tall fescue) applied extensively in present society as studying materials.man-made controlled water in the field ,the turfgrasses which have formed lawn are forced by natural drought and measured in different drought stages (30days ,45 days ,60days),aiming for authentically reflecting and studying outer pattern changes and physiological reaction of three kinds of turfgrasses in the natural drought force to reveal the characteristics of water demand ,so that let turfgrasses easily apply for production and solve the excessive need of water at present .The article carries on a primary research upon three kind of turgrasses , and the conclusions are as follows:1. Watering every thirty days,if the capacity of irrigating of Xinnong No 1 Bermudagrass and Kashi Bermudagrass are not less than 20millimeters,and 30 millimeters about tall fescue, they may all turn green ;Watering every 45 days, from the fading speed of leafs, Xinnong No 1 Bermudagrass is the quickest of three , Kashi Bermudagrass is the slowest and tall fescue is in the middle. To assure the outward appearance of lawn, Xinnong No 1 Bermudagrass and tall fescue can't be less than 60 mm, but Kashi Bermudagrass may be a little less than 60mm ;Watering every 60 days, from wilting extent of leaf, tall fescue is the quickest of three , Kashi Bermudagrass is the slowest and Xinnong No 1 Bermudagrass is in the middle . In order to prevent large surface area from wilting,the watering quantity of tall fescue is no less than 60 mm, and the watering quantity of Xinnong No 1 Bermudagrass is no less than the 30 mm, and the quantity of Kashi Bermudagrass is not less than 20 mm.2. As the reduction of watering quantity and the increase of forcing intensity,in thesuitable drought stress, the SOD activation of three kinds of turfgrasses can be enhanced.and long drought stress, SOD activation keep absolute stability. However, in the respect about reaction to fit for drought,the ability is different, from high to low, the order is Kashi Bermudagrass \ Xinnong No 1 Bermudagrass \ tall fescue. 3. As reducing the watering quantity and prolonging the forcing time, in the aspect of ability of effectively resisting drought for PRO: Kashi Bermudagrass is higher than Xinnong No 1 Bermudagrass, which is higher than tall fescue.4. As for the reduction of watering quantity and the prolonging of forcing time, to Xinnong No 1 Bermudagrass Kashi Bermudagrass and tall fescue,their own change of physiological quota in fibrous root are not identical to the change in leaf, and in general ,the intensity that the fibrous root endures is more serious than leaf.5. As the reduction of watering quantity and the prolonging of forcing time,the content of soluble sugar of three kinds of turfgrasses all increase a little more. And the content of root is higher than that of the leaf. Even, it is striking directly ratio relevance to WSD, that is , in pace with aggravation of moisture content lackness, the content of soluble sugar increases, and among them the forcing of 30 days is more remarkable than that of 45 days and 60 days. Among three turfgrasses ,the content of soluble sugar of tall fescue is the lowest. The higher the content of soluble sugar is, the stronger the ability of effectively resisting drought. Therefore, the drought resistant nature of tall fescue is less inferior than that of Xinnong No 1 Bermudagrass and Kashi Bermudagrass. 6. As reducing the watering quantity an...
