Effects Of Soil Amendments On Growth Characteristics Of Perennial Ryegrass And Soil Physical And Chemical Properties

The saline soil improvement is a complex and hard task. Being aimed at the soil salinization problem in garden afforesting in Lanzhou, four kinds of soil amendments (YNEC, Kangle, Puyuan and Liuneng )were choosed as the measure of improving soil . And effects of soil amendments on perennial ryegrass growth characteristics, soil physical and chemical properties were studied by field plot experiment. The results were abtained as follows:1.Four kinds of soil amendments can improve perennial ryegrass growth in certain degree.Under the same amount to be used,Kangle can remarkably increase grass height and biomass,YNEC and Liuneng have more significant effects on root length. All of the soil amendments can promote tillering of turfgrass , and with increasing of using amount,tillering number increased. All treatments' ration of root to shoot is low compared with control.Turfgrass' quality can be improved, to some extent, after application of soil amendments.2.Four kinds of amendments can improve soil physical properties.Soil bulk density decreased,soil porosity,permeability coefficient and field capacity increased under treatments. In the scope of experiment,the amended effects become more significant with increasing of amendment amount. 3.Four kinds of amendments are able to increase the content of soil nutrient. Under the same amount to be used , the contribution action of amendments to soil organic matter and total N is B＞D＞A＞C, the contribution action to available N is B＞D＞A＞C, to available P is B ＞A＞D＞C, to available is C＞D＞A＞B.4.Four kinds of soil amendments can reduce soil pH.With increasing of using amount, soil pH decreased. The effects of Kangle on pH is the obviousest among four kinds of amendments, the others in sequence are Liuneng,YNEC and Puyang,respectively. With increasing of the amount,the four amendments can cut down the content of dissolving salt in soil,but the range of droping is very little, which is between 1.95% ～15.12%.In the whole dissolving ion component by measuring,the content of HCO32+,Na++K+,Cl- and Mg2+ decreased,the content of SO42- and Ca2+ went up with increasing of using amount.
