1 to 7 days old piglets were selected from 14 scale farms and 22 farmers in 6 counties in Weifang area to investigate of the incidence and mortality rate of yellow scour of newborn piglets. The disease was diagnized with symptoms, pathological changes and pathogen identification. The result showed that this disease had a relatively epidemic scope and high incidence and mortality rate every year. The incidence and mortality rate of yellow scour of newborn piglets could be decreased by early iron supplying and food breeding, well sanitization before and periodically sanitization after the sow delivery.65 strains of Escherichia.coli were identificated by morphological and biochemistry character in 76 samplesof suspicious yellow scour of piglets collected from 14 scale farms and 22 farmers. In the 65 strains, 45 isolatescould be indentificated serotype with monovalence anti-0 antigen antibodies of E. coli which belonged to 9serotypes. They were O8 (11 strains) , O9 (9 strains), O141 (8 strains) , O45 (3 strains), O147 (3 strains) ,O20(2 strains) ,O157 (3 strains) , O101 (4 strains) andO119 (2 strains) .16 kinds of antibiotics were used in the antibiotic resistence test to the 65 isolates of panthogenic E.coli and the reference strain of E.coli ATCC25922- The most sensitive antibiotic was tubramycin(45/65), the second one was ofloxacin(41/65), the others were in turngentamycin, piperacillin, chloramphenicol, norfloxacin, neomycin, kanamycin, sulfamethoxazole compound, spectinomycin, deoxycycline, ampicillin, streptomycin, tetracycine, erythromycin, bacitracin. The tested strains showed different degree of resistence to antibiotics, and there were 7 strains showing resistence to 10 kinds of antibiotics, 8 strains to 9, 12 strains to 7, 15 strains to 6, 44 strains to 5 and 49 strains to 3.Two E.coli strains, L6 and L7, isolated from two scale farms with yellow scour of newborn piglets were selected as the vaccine-strains. The inactivated vaccine was made and immunized the pregnant sows in the farms, and the K88-LTB genetic engineering vaccine and saline were as control. The results were that the incidence rate of different group immuned with inactivated vaccine, the K88-LTB and saline were in turn 11.11%, 18.57% and 27.14% respectively, and the mortality rate were 8.33%, 12.86% and 17.14% respectively. It could be concluted that the E.coli inactivated vaccine had a efficient immune effect.Anti-E. coli Yolk antibody was prepared by immunized 5-month-old Roman hens with E.coli inactivatedvaccine. 113 2-hour-old piglets were tested by giving the yolk antibody orally to prevent the yellow scour of newborn piglet, and 110 2-hour-old piglets were as control. The results showed that the incidence rate of the test group was 18.58%, lower than the control group(47.27%). On the other hand, 60 piglets suffered from yellow scour of newborn piglet were therapied by muscle injecting the yolk antibody, and the other two groups (60 piglets respectively) of gentamycin and Weidaxin were as contrast. In the The cure rate of yolk antibody, gentamycin and Weidaxin group was 90%, 76.67% and 70% respectively, 13.33% and 20% higher than gentamycin and Weidaxin.
