Sinopodophyllum hexandrum (Royle) Ying, one kind of Chinese peculiar medicinal plant, having great medical use and at the edge of being extinct, is of great valuableness to be exploited, especially with the method of tissue culture. The author had done some prepared work about tissue culture of Sinopodophyllum hexandrum (Royle) Ying, found its seed-coat was a limit of germination but seeds can get a better germination rate after treated by 150mg/L GA3 and being cut at the part of hila. And the author found taking the seeds treated by GA3,being cut at the part of hila, and embryo as explants in tissue culture, better than endosperm, blade, petiole and shoot, could get good callus induction. But, during the work of callus induction, the author found it was difficult to induce the callus of Sinopodophyllum hexandrum (Royle) Ying. Browning and stop-growing always existed, hindering forward work. Browning had been resolved partly, but an effective solution to preventing stop-growing had not been worked out.
