Seven adult healthy Pekingese weighed about 5kg were used as experimental animals. Liver lesion in dogs was induced by injecting the mixture of 60% carbon tetrachloride and 40% peanut oil subcutaneously per ten days for seventy days. After injection, blood samples were collected for blood routine test, hepatic fuction test and sulfobromophthalein test on day 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10,20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70. The changes of blood routine test, hapatic function test and sulfobromophthalein test were observed during acute hepatic lesion and repeated hepatic lesion. The results are as follows:1. During acute hepatic lesion, parameters of WBC, T.Bili, D.Bili, ALT, AST, ALP, GGT and sulfobromophthalein retention rate increased markedly (p<0.01). There were not changes in RBC, PLT, TP and ALB during acute hepatic lesion (p>0.05).2. During repeated hepatic lesion, levels of TP, ALB, T.Bili, D.Bili, PLT and AST were all in normal ranges (p>0.05). Activities of ALT and GGT kept on a markedly high compared to control (p<0.0l). RBC began to decline marketly on day 40 (p<0.05). Levels of ALP and sulfobromophthalein retention rate kept increasing and markedly higher than control (p<0.01).From the results above, we can conclude that sulfobromophthalein test can reflect acute and repeated hepatic lesion sensitively, making up of the shortcoming of hepatic function test and suitting for clinical application.
