Gracilaria lemaneiforms is an important plant of Gracilaria. It is material for produce Agar and Agarose. Agar and Agarose are indispensability in modern foodstuff industry, cosmetic industry and study of biology engineering. The agar of Gracilaria lemaneiforms is good and is the best in Gracilarias', after alkalescency reform, the agar of Gracilaria lemaneiforms can be compare beauty with Gelidium amansii.Gracilaria lemaneiforms also is a good material of experimentation especially in genetics. Gracilaria lemaneiforms can be eating directly, delicious. Gracilaria lemaneiforms is high quality feed for abalone and others oceanic economy animal. The phycoerythrin, phycocyanin and allophycocyanin distilled from Gracilaria lemaneiforms can be used in physiology, biochemistry and genetics research. Now, Gracilaria lemaneiforms have been the forth growth alga after Undaria pannatifida, Laminaria japonica and Porphyra. For all these, strengthen basic biology and growth technique research, cultivate choiceness plants is imperative under the situation. In this study, regeneration of the fragments, isolation and development of protoplast and growth of spore from Gracilaria lemaneiforms were experiment. The results showed as follows:The fragments were well grown in the N-P medium and f/2 medium. The N-P medium could make the fragments branch easier than the f/2 medium, however, the latter could elongate the fragments faster than the former. The branching amount and growth speed of the old were more and faster than the young respectively. The growth speed and survival rate of regenerative sprouts of the 10mm long fragments were better than 5 mm long ones' obviously. The growth polarity was shown evidently from the regeneration and development of the fragments from G. lemaneiformis. The morphological upper parts could produced new sprouts and developed into new branches but the lower parts could not.
