In order to expoler the physiological mechanism of high yield cotton in Xinjiang systematically, and impove yield further , set canopy structure, yield forming and the regulation of cultivation as the first level. By means of source and sink ratio and canopy structure, the regulation of hormone to source and sink as the second level. The main results are given bellow.I. Studies on Characteristics of canopy structure and its regulation of high-yield cotton in Xinjiang1, Studies on characteristics of canopy structure and its regulation of High-yield cotton in Xinjiang, leaflet and plant types compaction variety LAI at full boll stage is 3.924.04, from full flowering to boll opening stage keeps 3.113.39; MFLA at whole stage average 40.76° 42.56° ,defuse penetration and transparent coefficient for radiation penetration at at full boll stage are 0.1200.130 and 0.1290.153, at boll opening stage keeps 0.1560.180 and 0.1750.197. grandifoliate and plant types loosening variety LAI at full boll stage is 4.144.38, from full flowering to boll opening stage keeps 3.323.54; MFLA at whole stage average 49.17° -53.31° ,defuse penetration and transparent coefficient for radiation penetration at at full boll stage are 0.1130.117 and 0.1390.171, at boll opening stage keeps 0.1350.171and 0.1690.237.2, The influences of planting density on cotton canopy structure can be summarized as: LAI increased with the increase of planting density before boll-flourishing stage. In latter period, it was lowest in density of 60,000 plant·hm-2, and density of 300,000 plant·hm-2 rapidly declined, and it maintained a high value in density of 180,000 plant·hm-2. MFLA increased with the increase of planting density, but due to planting density much larger, transparent coefficient for radiation penetration was small, lead to light leakage loss in latter period. When LAI was maximizing during full boll, every planting density treating 1AI was lower, plant types more compaction, lead to higher luminousness in excess DPC. Applying excess DPC improved high plant density transmission, accelerated dry matter cumulation and increased distribution rate towards each organ in ealier growth. But due to flowering-boll stage DPC was excess, LAI was lower and reduced its duration, lead to light leakage loss in latter period, yield was lower than normal DPC.3, The effects of different plant modes on canopy structure and yield can be summarized as the optimum plant modes is Xiao san mo in the situation of earlier harvest area of the North in Xinjiang.
