The experiments were conducted from 2003 to 2005 on the examination farm of Anhui Agricultural University. The cultivar of weak gluten wheat, Wanmai 48, was taken as experimental material to study the effects of different application nitrogen amount and application nitrogen time on the wheat growth and the grain yield forming and quality characters. And the effect of the nitrogen application on the quality of Wanmai 48 was taken as the emphasis of the experiments. The main results were as follows: 1. Effects of different application nitrogen on photosynthetic and physiological characteristics of weak gluten wheat Application nitrogen has remarkable influence on photosynthetic and physiological characteristics of Wanmai 48. The results showed that increased application nitrogen amount and postponed application nitrogen time redounded to increase of the wheat height and leaf area index, which caused the increase of colony colony stems. When the application nitrogen time is same, the treatments of medium and high application nitrogen amount had much larger leaf area index and colony colony stems than the treatments of low application nitrogen amount and CK. And the difference of the growth among different treatment led to the subsequent different physiological characteristic changes and grain yield. 2. Effects of different application nitrogen on the formative factor of weak gluten wheat yield The photosynthesis factors of Wanmai 48 were quite different according to different application nitrogen amount and application nitrogen time. Increasing application nitrogen amount improved chlorophyll content of Wanmai 48 in latter growth period, and postponing application nitrogen time stayed the progress of the wheat leaves' caducity. When application nitrogen time is same, the treatments of high application nitrogen amount had the higher chlorophyll content, and when application nitrogen amount is same, the treatments of fertilizing in rising period had the highest chlorophyll content. Increasing application nitrogen amount improved the flag leaf' photosynthesis velocity of Wanmai 48 at different time among a day in anthesis, and the improvement came to biggest when photosynthesis velocity came to its peak value. Effect of application nitrogen amount on change of flag leaf' photosynthesis velocity of Wanmai 48 after anthesis was not significant, but postponing application nitrogen time increased average of flag leaf' photosynthesis velocity after anthesis. Increasing application nitrogen amount improved leaf's soluble sugar content of Wanmai 48, and the improvement came to be significant when sugar content came to its peak value in anthesis, but the improvement was not significant after anthesis. The increasing of application nitrogen amount significantly improved grain's soluble sugar content especially in latter grouting period, and treatment of fertilizing in rising period had the highest grain's soluble sugar content. Increasing application nitrogen significantly improved plant dry matter amount, but it had not significant influence on conveying dry matter from plant to grain in latter growth period. The increasing of application nitrogen increased Wanmai 48' yield by increasing spike number per ha and had a little influence on weight per 1000 kernels of wheat. When application nitrogen time is same, the treatments of medium and high application nitrogen amount had higher grain yield, and when application nitrogen amount is same, the treatments of fertilizing in jointing stage had quite higher grain yield than those of fertilizing in turning-green stage or in rising period. 3. Effects of different application nitrogen on the quality character of weak gluten wheat In range of pure nitrogen 0~225 kg/ha, increasing application nitrogen significantly improved protein content, wet gluten content and SDS value. When application nitrogen time is same, the treatment of medium and high application nitrogen amount had higher values, and when application nitrogen amount is same, the treatments of fertilizin...
