The effects of different application ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer on grain yield and quality of medium-gluten wheat and weak-gluten wheat were studied on the experimental field of Jiangsu Provincial Key Lab of Crop Genetics and Physiology ,Yangzhou University from 2005 to 2007,. The approaches coordinating grain yield and quality of medium-gluten wheat and weak-gluten wheat were suggested. The main results were as follows:1. Effects of application ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer on grain yield and yield components.Fertilizing equal amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer on the base of suitable amount of nitrogen fertilize could increase yield of wheat. The feasible application ratio of N, P and K fertilizer was1:0.4:0.4 and 1:0.6:0.6 for medium-gluten wheat Yangmai12 with 225kg/ha nitrogen and for weak-gluten wheat Yangmai 15with 150kg/ha nitrogen. According to the analyses onyield components, feasible application ratio of N P and K fertilizer could enhance spike number and grain number, and then grain yield. In this experiment, the maximal spike number, grain number and 1000-grain weight of medium-gluten wheat Yangmai12 and weak-gluten wheat Yangmai 15 appeared in the ratio of 1:0.6:0.6, 1:0.4:0.4 and 1:0.6:0.6 respectively.2. Effects of application ratio of nitrogen, phosphorusand potassium fertilizer on the growth of wheat. The suitable application ratio of N, P and K fertilizer could improve the growth of wheat. The dry matter accumulation amount was the highest in the ratio of 1:0.4:0.4 and 1:0.6:0.6 during every growth period in medium-gluten wheat Yangmai 12 and weak-gluten wheat Yangmai15, which resulted from the optimum LAI and photosynthetic capability. The dry matter amount accumulaed after anthesis was significantly correlated with grain yield.3. Effects of application ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer on grain quality. In this experiment, the grain protein content in 1:0.8:0.8 ratio treatment was greatest in medium-gluten wheat Yangmai 12, but its protein yield was low due to the low grain yield. In the ratio of 1:0.4:0.4 and 1:0.6:0.6, grain quality and grain yield were coordinated . Grain protein content and wet gluten content of weak gluten wheat Yangmai 15 inof the ratio of 1:0.4:0.4 and 1:0.6:0.6 could meet the demand of GB/T17893-1999..Therefor, the application ratio of N, P and K fertilizer 1:0.4:0.4 and 1:0.6:0.6 in this experiment were suitable for the coordinating of grain quality and yield.
