In this research, we mixed different dosage of STOCKOSORB, a Super Absorbent Polymer(SAP), with soil, under different irrigation treatments (30%FC-lower, 60%FC -moderate, 100 %FC-enough) , to study the effects on the visual quality, growth and physiology parameters of Kentucky bluegrass. The results are as follows:1. The SAP has active effects on the emergence and growth of Kentucky bluegrass seedlings. It was advantage to the coverage and speed of lawn establishment. 2. The growth and physiology parameters were remarkably improved with the increasing of quantity of water. Under the condition of the same irrigation, obvious changes were founded among the different dosage of SAP.3. Under the lower quantity of water, with the increasing of SAP dosage, the visual quality, leaves width, growth rate, clipping dry weight, and relative water content were on increasing at early days, but declined with the long-stage water control. The free proline content and relative electrical conductivity were opposite. The aboveground biomass declined. The underground biomass and the ratio of underground biomass and aboveground biomass were remarkably more than control. The contents of chlorophyll was increased at lower SAP, but declined at 75g/m2. The net photosynthesis rate, transpiration rate and WUE declined with the increasing of SAP dosage.4. Under the moderate quantity of water, the effects of SAP were good. The visual quality, growth and physiology parameters of Kentucky bluegrass were all promoted remarkably, but the differences were not same at parameters among dosages.5. Under enough water, with the increasing of SAP dosage, the visual quality, leaves width, growth rate, clipping dry weight, aboveground biomass, underground biomass, the ratio of underground biomass and aboveground biomass, relative water content and transpiration rate were all on increasing, but the range increased was less than that of the moderate quantity of water. The free proline content and relative electrical conductivity declined. The net photosynthesis rate increased, and then descended at 75g/m2. WUE was declined. The effect of contents of chlorophyll was not remarkable, but declined slightly at 75g/m2.
