A line of Oryza eichingeri (2n=24 CC) which orginated from Uganda was crossed to a cultivated variety 02428(2n=24 AA) to breed the MAAL(monosomic alien addition line). This MAAL-11 was used to construct the introgression lines and study the mechanisms of the recombination in the distantly related genome. The results showed as follows:1. By the way of FISH and GISH, the 11~th monosomic alien addition line was successfully segregated and we make sure that the segments of 11~th CC chromosome had intrgressed into the 11th AA chromosome in the introgression lines. Through the genetic study of the introgression lines, with a set of SSR markers, we found the segregation mechanisms of the introgression segments and made a point that, in our materials, the mechanisms of the introgression in the distantly related genome of the rice is the homologous recombination and this homologous recombination is limited.2. We had the monosomic alien addition lines from 02428 and Oryza eichingeri. Because the MAALs-11 has the high crossability, it was selfcrossed to construct a large population of introgression lines. In order to detect the introgression segments, we established a set of SSR markers of chromosome 11 and they are detected polymorphism between the AA genome and CC genome. These markers were used to screen the progenies of the MAAL-11 to detect the introgression lines. Some special introgression lines has different types of its parents because of the alien segments. These introgression lines were studied and some good traits were selected for the gene mapping and genetic improvement.
