Evergreen and broad-leaved forest of Karst with broad distributionof Castanopsis hupehensis as the main species is only found in Feiyunya,Huangping county of Guizhou Province ,China.. With the Castanopsishupehensis in Feiyunya as the research object, this paper, on the basis ofthe data in years 1960,1985 and 2004 , and the methods combined withfield work and quantitative ecology , such as the calculation ofimportance value , the analysis of community construct , themeasurement of clustering degree and the establishment of successionmodel , compares bio-diversity and community construct ofCastanopsis hupehensis, and makes a primary study on its naturalsubordinate woods. The research not only in Karst forest but also in thesame work at home is the first. The results are as follows: 1.Castanopsis hupehensis forest is the steady community inFeiyunya, Huangping County. Castanopsis hupehensis community and itsmain companion species such as Pinus massoniana, Cyclobalanopsisglauca, Carpinus pubescens, bush plants such as Linderaommunis, Camellia oleifera, Pyracantha fortuneana, Myrsine africanaand grass plants such like Iris tectorum, Carex lanceolata, Arthraxonhispidus in different niches, gain such resources as light, heat, soiland water in different ways, and in their interactions, they form a stablecommunity, in which its energy flow and material circulation are indynamic balance and stabilization. Based on the data in years, thispaper demonstrates that the ecological environment and weather there aresuitable for the growing of Castanopsis hupehensis . 2.From 1985 to 2004, the plant density of Castanopsis hupehensishas been from 0.014 / m2 to 0.16 / m2, in which the density of ClassⅠyoung plants is 0.096 /m2, ClassⅡand Ⅳ young plants, 0.01/m2, ClassⅢ and Ⅴ stumpages, 0.009/m2and 0.036/m2respectively. In the layerconstruct of stumpage, the first layer of stumpage accounts for 16.25% intotal, the second, 16.88%, the third, 60.63%. These data demonstrate thatin the last 20 years the quantity of Castanopsis hupehensis communityhas been on the rise , and that its construct has been in young stage , andthat it is evolving from a stable community to a growing community.3.The species components of Castanopsis hupehensis community aresimple, which include 51 various plants, belonging to 33 families and 42genera. Compared with 1960 and 1985, the number of species now isslightly larger , and some heliophilous plants have invaded theCastanopsis hupehensis forest. 4.On the basis of the calculation of diffusing coefficient C, diffusingindex Io and Iδ, index CA, mean clustering index M* and index PAI , thepaper points out that Castanopsis hupehensis in infant and young stagestakes on clustering distribution, but in mature stage, it takes on randomdistribution, which results from the coefficient of environment factorsand natural succession. 5.According to the model-establishing principles of M. Д.КορзуχHИ,the paper establishes a dynamic model of Castanopsis hupehensiscommunity in Feiyunya, to describe the cover relation the amonginfant , young and mature communities, and to study the mechanism ofcommunity stability in the small scope by simulating the succession ofcommunity. 6.On the basis of data in 40 years, the paper summaries the changesof components of Castanopsis hupehensis community in the time andanalyzes their ecological reasons, explaining Castanopsis hupehensiscommunity is gradually mature, and its ability of self-regulation is largeand large, and Castanopsis hupehensis pure forest is in succession. 7.The paper puts forward some advice on ecological restoration ofCastanopsis hupehensis and preventability of its retrogression.
