Plastic film residue collector is a main problem of the agricultural production. With plastic film residue increasing in the field, it will bring more harm to agricultural production. Study of Plastic film residue collector has very important realistic significance. The straw chopper, which is a key working part of straw chopping and plastic film residue collector, was researched in this thesis. Firstly, Structure parameters and working characteristics of the machine were analyzed in the thesis. The main cause of the machine vibration was deeply researched, and the resolving ways were offered. Array of the knives was analyzed, and new array of the knives was offered. Secondly, the solid Virtual Prototype Model was assembled by the unit parts , which were drawed with UG, and the dynamic simulations were demonstrated in UG/Motion environment. These confirm the structure and measure of the machine to be rational. Problems of this machine were solved. Kinematics and dynamics methods of UG were fristly used to analyze homeostasis of the knife axis and to proofread bearing longevity. Thirdly, Modal performance of knife axis and finite element analysis of knife were finished by the UG/FEA. Critical rotate was obtained through the modal performance of knife axis, which offered reference for comfirmed rotate speed of the knife axis. Finally, the cutting principle of the machine was studied. Based on the filed test, it was known that the theoretical analysis and designing of the field straw chopper were reliable. These can offer reference for design and research of the field straw chopper.
