Zizyphus jujuba is one of the most important economic trees in China. The Jujube witches' broom disease (JWB) caused by phytoplasma has brought much economic damage to jujube production in our country. Based on the differences in resistance to JWB, field plants and tissue culture plantlcts under treatment of pathogen elimination of several jujube varieties with different resistance to JWB were chosen as experimental materials used for studying the resistant physiological mechanism in this paper. In order to explore the resistant physiological mechanism of jujube varieties with different resistances to JWB, the study of pathology and physiology analyses was carried on, the POD, PPO and EST isozyme, the protein and endogenous hormone in the different jujube materials were mensurated. The main results are as follow:(1) There are difference in the content and activity of POD, PPO isozyme of the laminae, which belong to Jujube species of difference resistant against JWB and Jujube species fore-and-aft inoculated the phytoplasma, the difference not only include the increasing of content and activity, but also involve the apperance of new isozyme strip. The change of the physical metabolize in the body of the Zizyphus jujube caused by the incursion of phytoplasma indicated tha t there is a significant difference between the interplay of pathogeny and resistant and sensitive host. But the EST in the body of Zizyphus jujube trespassed by phytoplasma changed little and only lesser increase and decrease took on in activity of the isozyme strip. A remarkable difference among resistant varieties can not be found.(2) The result of SDS-PAGE analysis of leaf protein in different resistant and fore-and-aft inoculated phytoplasma jujube varieties against JWB showed that four protein strip of which the Rf value was respectively 0.20, 0.24, 0.36, 0.48 appeared in three kinds of leaves (healthy leaves of healthy seedlings, healthy leaves of ailing seedlings, ailing leaves of ailing seedlings) in four jujube varieties. The change rule of the protein strip expression in those four kinds of jujube varieties was accordant of which the Rf value was 0.20. Three protein strips of which the Rf value was respectively 0.31, 0.33 , 0.50 were found in three varieties with different resistances of Pozao. As a whole, the expression of protein in the resistant against JWB varieties was stronger than that in the sensitive varieties, and the result also showed the difference between the...
