In order to assess the value and effect of breeding for newly bred the third generation Jinli meat duck in J, B, L, D breeds and L×D, J×L·D group, we analyzed their growing, reproduction and slaughter traits for benefit the production and the next step breeding. For the growing traits of Jinli meat duck in J, B, L, D breeds and L×D, J×L·D group, we described and counted the growing curve for 0-24 week old, feedstuff rate and living rate for each breed and group. The result showed that, in the normal management condition, patrilineal breeds(J, B) and matrilineal breeds (L, D) were suitable for reproduction demands, and in 24 weeks old, the body weigh for each breed were as follow: J♂3434g, ♀3392g, D♂3020g, ♀2855g, LD♀2980g; The living rate was more than 96. 8% during 0-24 weeks; the feedstuff rate in D breed was the lowest, only 21kg and it was suitable for matrilineal breed. For the reproduction traits of Jinli meat duck in J, B, L, D breeds and L ×D, J×L·D group, we evaluated the first laying date, laying rate, egg mass, egg weight, fertilized egg and hatching rate for each breed and group. The results showed that the egg mass of the four pure breeds and LD breed increased after three generation' s selection; for the D breed, the egg mass was 240 at 40 weeks, it was 6. 14% higher than first generation at the same time;LD breed had 238 egg mass and the laying rate of it was more than 90%; the first laying day of J breed was earlier than the other breed, and the first laying day was 160 instead of 169 in D breed; the egg weight was more than 94g for J breed, higher than the other breed, but the egg weight of first laying date in D breed become lower; the fertilized rate in each breed didn't change distinctly. J breed was 89% and D breed was 93. 4% in the third generation and all breeds were suitable for reproduction breeds; the death rate during the laying period was less than 7. 8%.For the slaughter traits of Jinli meat duck in J> B, L, D breeds and L XD, JXL'D group, we evaluated the meat traits for each breed and group as follow: Growing rate, feedstuff /meat rate slaughter rate, chest meat rate, thigh meat rate, skin fat rate and celiac fat rate. The result showed that: in the earlier growing trait existed obviously hybrid, the body weight for JXL'D breed at both 4 and 6 weeks was significantly higher than other pure breeds; At 7 week, the body weight of JXL'D group was 3393g and was the highest, the feedstuff/meat rate was the lowest for J and JXL*D. There was good slaughter traits for Jinli meat duck pure breed and hybrid group: the meat and bone rate were 73. 5%, 76.3%, 75.8%, 76.9% in 4, 5, 6, 7 weeks; chest meat rate were 5.1%, 8.3%, 11.7%, 15.0%, thigh meat rate were 16.3%, 16.4%, 13.2%, 11.7%. The chest and thigh meat weight at 7 week old was 427g and 348g respectively. Skin fat rate and celiac fat rate were relatively low. Celiac fat rate in female was significantly higher than male duck, and for the other traits, there wasn' t significantly difference between female and male duck; skin fat rate and celiac fat rate in each breed were increasing when they became elder, while thigh meat rate was decreasing at the same time. Skin fat rate at 5 week was lower than 4 week, but it increased after 6 weeks (except L breed). All the three parts results showed that: J breed was suitable for father mating breed as its good meat production traits and reproduction; B breed didn' t have prominent traits, so it was not meaningful for me; D breed was suitable for mother mating breed as its good egg laying trait. LD group was suitable for parent generation breed as its good egg laying, feed rate and living rate. JXD , JXL'D group had the fast increasing body weight in earlier period and high meat quality , so they were favored in Sichuan market and in duck production.
