Expert system is the active and broad branch in the application of ArtificialIntelligence. Animal husbandry is one of the main domains in our autonomous regionand the information construction is very important to the development of animalhusbandry. Therefore, it is significative and practical to make research on the applicationof expert system in cow disease diagnosis.In this paper, we make research on theobject-oriented expert system for cow disease diagnosis.In this paper, we make an object-oriented expert system model for diagnosis. Withobject-oriented technology we combine the traditional frame and rule knowledgeexpressions into object to make the object knowledge base. In the object knowledge base,we use the characters of object-oriented enginery such as: encapsulation,inheritance,message-process to emphasize the flexibility of rule and structure of frame,meanwhile,some characters of semantic network is also conbined into the object knowledge base.The reasoning machine of the model is encapsulated in knowledge object as methods.With the polymorphism of object-oriented technology,the reasoning machine draw outthe advantages of the rule reasoning and frame reasoning,and the flexible reasoningenginery and control strategy is realized.According to the model, taking the partial internal disease diagnosis for cow assubject we make a B/S structure based verifying on-line diagnosis expert system—WebDoctor, and also introduce the extension methods of the knowledge base andreasoning machine for overall cow disease diagnosis.The WebDoctor is analyzed and designed with UML. We use Struts web frameworkbasing on Jsp,Servlet and Taglib technology, take Tomact5.0 as web server andSQLServer2000 as database, we also use MVC model to construct the WebDoctor whichexpress the Model,View,Control in different layer.The WebDoctor verify the validity of the aforesaid expert system model and is ofsignificane to the real cow disease diagnosis. It is a beneficial try to the application ofexpert system for cow disease diagnosis.
