In this paper, some traditional medicine plants including Ginkgo biloba L., Scuttellaria rehderiana Diels, Eucommia ulmoides Oliv. and Sinopodophyllum hexandrum are objects of this study.Results:1. 52 strains of fungi were isolated from these plants. They were identified as Alternaria sp., Aspergillus sp., Alternaria sp., Fusarium sp. and Alternaria sp.2. 4 species of fungi including YX6,HQ1,DZ10 and DZ11 were collected because they could produce flavonoid .The conclusion was based on characteristic colour reaction and thin layer chromatography analysis. The contents of flavonoid of their metabolite was tested by spectrophotography.3. 21 species of fungi were isolated from Sinopodophyllum hexandnun. One strain of which the strain T8 was excellent with steady properties , its metabolite has been analysed by thin layer chromatography, Infrared spectrum, HPLC and Ultravoilet spectrum. It showed that T8 can produce an anti-cancer material podophyllotoxin.4. The fermentation conditions of T8 were optimized by the orthogonal experiment. The results showed that PDA medium was the optimum conditions for mycelial and synthetic medium was suitable for podophyllotoxin production. The synthetic medium was selected for orthogonal experiment. The optimum carbon and nitrogen sources, temperature and pH were sucrose(2%), urea(0.45%), 30°C and 6.0.,respectively.
