This paper mainly studied the effect on the agronomic character, intrinsic chemical composition, yield and output value of Burley tobacco from different topping stage and different methods of using potash fertilizer. The results showed that there was not distinct diversity in leaf length, leaf width, leaf number and plant height during the whole growth period when we used different technology of using potash fertilizer. But the diversity was distinct in intrinsic quality, especially in the content of potassium and nicotine. The different methods of using potash fertilizer included only using ground fertilizer, using additional manure one time and using additional manure two times. Among these three methods, the treatment of using additional manure two times was the best to the accumulation of potassium and decreasing nicotine. Furthermore the yield and output value were distinct higher than the other treatments. Those were respective 2145kg/hm~2 and 17160yuan/hm~2. In the topping experiment, suspending topping stage could decrease the content of nicotine of leaves.
