From the three aspects of vegetation, soil and sheep, it was studied on the effect of grazing systems on the vegetation, soil and sheep of desert grassland on Sidunzi,Yanchi,Ningxia from 1st May to 1st November. The results are showed as follows:(1) The Plant height, the density, the coverage and the standing crop of community in the rotational grazing area were higher than that in the continuous grazing area (P<0. 05) .(2) The Plant height, the density and coverage of Leymus secalinus (Georgi) Tgvel. in the continuous grazing area were higher than that in the rotational grazing area, the plant height, density and coverage of Pennisetum Flaccidum Griseb were lower than that in the rotational grazing area; The Potentilla reptans had the trend of creeper and shorten in the continuous grazing area, density and coverage higher than that in the rotational grazing area.(3) There was no distinct effect on total underground phytomass by different grazing systems in this experimentation (P>0.05). But the total underground phytomass in the continuous grazing area is higher than the rotational grazing area.(4) There was no distinct effect on the calendar of the pasturage by grazing systems in this experimentation.(5 ) In the rotational grazing, the surface soil hardness and bulk density were decreased, the soil moisture and porosity were increased, the soil nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and organic matter were high.(6) The Compared with the continuous grazing, the contents of crude protein, crude fat and calcium that sheep ingesting were higher and the contents of crude fiber that sheep ingesting was lower in the continuous grazing area. Comparing with continuous grazing and continuous grazing systems, the nourishment composition of the grasses have no distinct.(7) The live weight of Tan sheep appeared increasing tendency as the time passed under the different grazing systems. Lower fluctuation in animal body weight was obtained in rotational grazing than that in continuous grazing. Animal production was stable in these four grazing systems (P>0. 05) .
