This paper used spice plant of tarragon (Artemisia dracunculus L.) as material, discussed the extraction conditions of essential oil, and studied the generative propagation and clone. 1,Essential oil was extracted from tarragon with distillation. The effect of extraction conditions, including organic solvent, volume of ether and extraction time on the yield of tarragon essential oil were studied, the suitable extracting conditions of tarragon oil were that extraction time was 4.5h, solute to solvent weight ratio was 1:4, extraction times were 1 time, volume of ether was 400 ml. 2,By using stem, leaf and flower of tarragon as primary explants, they were sited on nutriments of MS with BA1.0 ㎎/l and NAA0.02 ㎎/l etc in period of cultivation, and aroused dividing for breeding. The results showed that the optimum propagating medium is MS+ BA0~0.3 ㎎/l+NAA0~0.04 ㎎/l, plant of regeneration efficiency is high. During selecting rooting generation, after treated with NAA, IAA, IBA, the best effect of rooting generation is IBA among three hormones of IBA, IAA, NAA. 3,This paper deals with the hardening and transplanting techniques of tarragon tube-seedlings, and summarizes the technological process of hardening and transplanting the seeding. After closed hardening, the test of plant grows well, and the resistance of the plants increases and the survival rate makes up over 93%. 4,The plant material of tarragon rhizome was treated by different concentration of hormones and chemical agents, cutting tests were made in sawdust, sand-soils and pearl-rock separately. Appearance variation, rooted number, root length and cutting survivor were measured. IBA and VB1 can increase rhizome's rooting rate and 150mg/l IBA has the best effect on cutting, sand-soils is better than others. 5,The pollen germination viability of tarragon in dark was better than that of tarragon in light; the optimal temperature for permission pollen to generate properly was 25℃;and the satisfactory medium was composed of 2% agarose added with 10%~15% sucrose and 1% of boric acid.
