C.lachnyma-jobi varieties used in this study came from Shandong, Nanjing, Beijing and Ya'an. Some morphological characteristics of C.lachnyma-jobi such as ears, leaves, height , effective ears, florescence and yield traits et al. were studied by shading treatments and sowing date treatments on the base of former literatures about high-yield cultivation, cytogenetics and officinal value of C.lachnyma-jobi. The results were as follows:1. Effect of shading treatments on growth of C.lachnyma-jobi: By 8hours and 11 hours lighting treatment of C.lachnyma-jobi in 1leaf, 3leaf, 5leaf and 8leaf, The results revealed that Growth of C. lachnyma-jobi was shorten by shading treatments, therefore accelerate the transition from nutritive growth to reproductive growth. It represented that the growth period was shortened , the plant height was reduced, the number of leaves were decreased, florescence value was earlier, ears were quicken, effective ears were increased. Phototonus of Beijing variety was the best, next is Shandong variety, Ya'an and Nanjing varieties were the worst. Effect of shading treatments on 1 leaf was better than on 3leaf for Nanjing variety , but Shandong variety was the reverse. Effect of shading treatments on 5leaf for Shandong and Beijing varieties was better than Ya'an and Nanjing varieties. Perhaps photophase of the southern varieties was earlier than the northern varieties, but duration of photophase of the northern varieties is longer than the southern varieties.2. Effect of shading treatments on solubility sugar content: There was no influence of shading treatments on solubility sugar content by studied Shandong variety and Nanjing variety which were treated by lighting 8h and 11h in 3leaf. The results were consistent with the study of Jin-feng Han that shading treatments had no effect on the content of carbon for short-day plant.3. Effect of shading treatment on yield: There is no significant influence of shading treatment on yield of C.lachnyma-jobi by SSR analysis on effective ears, full ripened ear, 1000-grains weight, seed set of C. lachnyma-jobi.4. Effect of sowing date on growth: Analysis of the leaves' growth rate, plant height andthe final leaves revealed that sowing date of C.lachnyma-jobi was fitted more in the second period and the third period. That was to say, from the aspect of growth course, C.lachnyma-jobi sowed appropriately from the first ten days of March to the last ten-day of April in Ya'an.5. Effect of sowing date on yield: Analysis of the effective ears> full ripened ear and 1000-grains weight which were the 3 important factors influencing C.lachnyma-jobi yield in different sowing date, indicated that full ripened ear and 1000-grains weight was more weight in the second period and the third period than in the others sowing date. While the yield was the highest of C.lachnyma-jobi in the first sowing date. Maybe caused by the high-temperature calamity which appeared in July of last year in Ya'an and affected the grouting of C.lachnyma-jobi in this time. The second period and the third period received high-temperature calamity in July of last year in Yaan's was worse than the other periods. However, the first period seeds earlier than the other periods, so the high-temperature calamity received was less, the yield was higher instead. At the same time, the fifth period and the sixth period sowing later ,so they received the high-temperature calamity also was less. Therefore there was no correlation between their yield and the high-temperature calamity. The low yield of C.lachnyma-jobi sowed in the fifth time and sixth time was caused by the few tillers, effective ears and the few full ripened ears. The results showed it was not fitful of C.lachnyma-jobi seeding on the last ten-day of AprilTo sum up, photoperiod treatments had a significant influence on growth of C.lachnyma-jobi, but sowing date had significant influence on yield, while shading treatments had insignificant influence on yield. The results showed that the yield of C.lachnyma-jobi was influenced not only by genetic factors, but also by environmental factors, especially, lighU temperature and water played an important role in milk filling period.
