In order to understand and probe the genetic law of Photo-thermo sensitive male nuclear sterile rice line's(D18) srerility, we studied the fertility of F2 that Photo-thermo sensitive male nuclear sterile rice line(D18) hybrid with the local conventional cultivars,and analysed the leafperoxidase(POX) isozyme of Photo-thermo sensitive male nuclear sterile rice line(D18) and Yuetingnuol's F2 ,the main result are shown as follow.1) Photo-thermo sensitive male nuclear sterile rice line's (D18) sterility are controlled mainly by two pairs of recessive major gene.2) the peroxidase isozyme pattern of D18 had a significant difference with other conventional cultivars, Photo-thermo sensitive male nuclear sterile rice line had three more peroxidase isozyme characteristic bands(P5,P6,P7) than conventional cultivars,which appeared from early bicellular pollen stageand last to the end.3) Polyacrylamide gel ,PAG determined hybrid group(D18S/ yuetingnuol)'s F2 group's the peroxidase isozyme, had difference in the numbers of isozyme bands and the dosages of peroxidase isozyme between the fertile plants and sterile ones, peroxidase iso2ym pattern's analysis will be a more reliable and scientific way than seed-setting rate.
