Content: At present, the planting area of cotton is 460,000 hm2 in Xinjiang formation, and it's yield has exceed 1800Kg/hm2.The fiber quality in different district is unlike, we can ensure the situation of the cotton quality of Xinjiang formation through study on current status of Xinjiang formation cotton quality in different district. Utilizing the result of this study, we can regulate the cotton industrial structure scientifically, quality evaluation, layout of high quality cotton, introducing cultivars and breeding, inspection and identification of quality. It helps to show regional and ecological predominance of Xinjiang formation, display the potentiality of cultivars, and improve international competitiveness of cotton fiber.According to climate of Xinjiang formation, we choose 14 representative reclamation area to arrange the test, which distribute familiar-maturing cotton district (southern of Xinjiang, eastern of Xinjiang) and early-maturing cotton district (Northern of Xinjiang) . It choose Xinjiang self-fertile or introducing popular cultivars since 1996, which divide into early-maturing group and familiar-maturing group, to adopt whole-random-group test, investigation, taking a sample, checking seed and identification of quality by the same method.Upland cotton fiber quality in every reclamation area of Xinjiang formation is:length is 29.10-30.89 mm, strength is 27.24-31.65cN/tex, micronaire is 3.69-4.98; shorter than 28.0 mm or longer than 31.0mm are scarce. In total, strength is lower, micronaire is better and grade A is a majority.The cultivars of long floss cotton is the self-fertile variety of Xinjiang, its length is 35.78-37.34 mm, its strength is 32.92~40.85cN/tex, the greatest micronaire is 4.46.There is a complicated correlativity in cotton fiber quality index. Analyzing main composition of fiber quality index of long floss cotton and upland cotton (sub-district of early-maturing cotton and sub-district of middle-early-maturing cotton) and then selecting the remarkable main composition to clustering-analyze, to compartmentalize ecological sub-district to high quality area, inferior quality area and lowest quality area.Early-maturing upland cotton sub-district: the high quality area is mosuowan reclamation area, the inferior quality area is the Middle-shihezi Reclamation Area, Fangcaohu Reclamation Area, Chepaizi Reclamation Area, Anjihai Reclamation Area; the lowest quality area is Bole Reclamation Area and Xiayedi Reclamation Area.Middle-early-maturing upland cotton sub-district: the high quality area is Shajingzi Reclamation Area, Maigaiti Reclamation Area and Hami Reclamation Area; the inferior quality area is Alaer Reclamation Area; the lowest quality area is Kuerle Reclamation Area, Xiaohaizi Reclamation Area and Talimu Reclamation Area.The cultivars of long floss cotton: the high quality area is Maigaiti Reclamation Area and Xiaohaizi Reclamation Area; the inferior quality area is Shajingzi Reclamation Area, Kuerle Reclamation Area and Talimu Reclamation Area ; the lowest quality area is Alaer Reclamation Area.
