The predation function of different instars and stages of chrysoperla sinica (Tjeder) or Orius minutus ( L) to different instars and stages of the glasshouse whitefly Trialeurodes vaporariorum (Westw) was carried out using feeding single head technology.Furthermore, laboratory studies were carried out to assess the toxicity of 3 insecticides ( imidacloprid, acetaniprid and buporfezin) to different instars and stages of the glasshouse whitefly, chrysoperla sinica (Tjeder) or Orius minutus ( L). The tolerance difference to insecticides was studied on different instars and stages of the glasshouse whitefly, chrysoperla sinica (Tjeder) or Orius minutus ( L) using medicine embrane method in the glass. The new extending projection of controlling the glasshouse whitefly was established. The results could be summarized as follows:1.The functional response of different instars and stages of chrysoperla sinica (Tjeder) or Orius minutus ( L) to different instars and stages of the glasshouse whitefly Trialeurodes vaporariorum (Westw) is fit to Hollingâ…¡type. The predating number increased with the density of the glasshouse whitefly (Westw). The searching efficiency decreased as chrysoperla sinica (Tjeder)or Orius minutus ( L) density increased.Through inspection of inteferring response between individuals, its interferring response are corresponding to Hassell-Varley mode1.The effect of temperature on search rate (a) and handling time (Th) was remarkable.2. The maximal predation number of 1st,2nd or 3rd instar of chrysoperla sinica (Tjeder) to eggs of the glasshouse whitefly were 131.2, 375.94 and 490.20 per day respectively; the maximal predation number of 1st,2nd or 3rd instar of chrysoperla sinica (Tjeder) to false pupa of the glasshouse whitefly were32.4, 24.63 and 100 per day respectively; the maximal predation number of 1st or 2nd instar of chrysoperla sinica (Tjeder) to 3rd instar of the glasshouse whitefly were 10.00 and 26.64 per day respectively; the maximal...
