Endogenous opioid system is the unit of structure and function, which is composed of opioid receptor, endogenous opioid and neuron that composing, storing and releasing endogenous opioid in the body.Endogenous opioid is a basic unit combined with different opioid receptor, to participate in character, motion, living action of individual and species including hurtable stimulation, emergency appreciate and positive action. It also has positive function to breath, body temperature regulation, stomach motion and immune. Now, 3 kinds of opioid receptors were discovered, which were Mu opioid receptor, Delta receptor and Kappa receptor. They are all members of G protein-coupled receptor family, Mu opioid receptor (MOR) DNA was cloned firstly by Chinese Scholar Yu Lei. Till now, Mu opioid receptor's DNA and genomic DNA of human, mouse and pig were cloned in many laboratories in the world. The researching of horses'Mu opioid receptor is significant for racing horse industry. In the present study selected Mu opioid receptor (MOR) gene as a candidate gene to influence character of horse. Three exons and intronâ…¡of MOR were analyzed by PCR-SSCP and PCR-RFLP on different species horses. The result showed G replaced A at 716 site in cDNA. There was no SNPs site in exon II and exon III. As the result of PCR-RFLP, there are restriction sites of 4 kinds restriction enzyme Msp I,HindIII,AVaII and BSU361.In this thesis, the polymorphism of horse MOR gene was researched for the first time. The result is significant for developing of horse industry researching of our country. There are polymorphisms only on TaqI.
