Scrotal circumference (SC) is easy and inexpensive to measure . It has moderate heritability, and favorably associated with both male and female fertility.To discuss the correlation between scrotal circumference and main traits of sperm quality, SC and data of sperm quality for 101 bulls were collected. The population were from 3 bulls stations and classed to 3 ranges of age and 5 ranges of breed. Analysis the correlation among SC and sperm volume(SV), Sperm motility(SM), Sperm concentration(SCT). And also the differences among these four traits. The results are as follows:1, In the range of age 1.5y~4y, SC was positively correlated with SV,SM and SCT both for Simmental and Holstein. The correlation between SC and SM was significant (a=0.05) .2, In the range of age 4y~6y, as for Simmental, the correlation among SC,SV,SM and SCT were all not significant. But it seemed like to be positive.3, In the range of age more than 6y, there was unsignificantly correlation among SC,SV,SCT for Simmental,Charolais and Limousin. And SM seemed to be negatively correlated with SC.4, In the range of age 1.5y~4y, there was a significantly correlation between Holstein. SC of Simmental was much bigger than Holstein (42.93±4. 03 > 39.72 ±3. 99) . However, the correlation between the two breeds were all not significant in SV (Holstein6.74±1.69 > Simmenta15.85± 1.68) ,SM (Holstein0.64±0.04>Simmenta10.62±0.03) and SCT (Simmental7.60±1.41 > Holstein7.03±0.95) .5, In the range of age 4y~6y, the correlation between Simmental and Charolais in SC (Simmental47.20±4.14 > Charolais42.60±2. 74) , SV (Charolais6.96±0. 91 > Simmental5.89± 2.19) ,SM (Charolais0.65±0.04>Simmental0.63±0. 03) and SCT (Simmental7.78±1.75 > Charolais6.66± 1.22 ) were all not significant.6, In the range of age more than 6y, there was a unsignificantly correlation between SC of Charolais and Simmental. But their SC were both significantly bigger than Limousin. (Charolais47.14 ±3. 45 > Simmental45.38±2. 87 > Limousin41.69±2. 48) There was unsignificantly correlation between SM of Simmental and Limousin. But their SM are both lower than Charolais (Charolais8.00 ± 1. 38 > Simmental7.05±3. 03 > Limousin6.61 ±1. 78) . The correlation among both SV (Charolais0.66±0. 02 > Simmental0.60±0. 02 > Limousin0.60±0. 05) and SCT (Simmental7.84 ± 1. 57 > Charolais7.52± 1. 22 > Limousin6.65± 1. 60) of Limousin, Simmental and Charolais were not significant.mKNA differential display method was used to analyze the differential gene expression between bulls of greater SC and smaller ones involving 2 bull breeds,which are Simmental and Charolais crossbreed. The aims of present paper are to detect differential gene expression fragments in bulls which had different SC.
