A study was completed on planting and comprehensive utilization for fresh corn to decide the proper cultivation methods, processing skills and integrated utilization technology. A series of experiments were conducted. Investigation was done combining with information collection to analyze the economic benefits of fresh corn. It was discussed how to promote farmer's income, increase farming benefits, accelerate regional development in agriculture, reinforce competition and boost farm produce export. The study will offer some guidelines for fresh corn production. The chiefly results are following:1. Planting technology of fresh corn: For spring sowing of wax corn varieties should be chosen with early maturing, high yield and good tastes like No1 kennian. The variety of Jingkenuo 2000 could be used as directly fresh eating, which is yield high and quality good. It was recommended for summer sowing of sweet corn as Micui 678 and Micui 878. It will be appropriate for summer sowing of fresh corn in early July. The suitable population for spring sowing of fresh corn in north of China is 45000-52500 plants / ha. The ideal density is 52500 plants/ ha, with highest profit. The population should be decided with considering of land fertility. The best population for summer sowing in Henan Province is 52500 plants/ha, with highest yield and the lowest rate of double ears, which is to sure the good ear appearance for fresh eating and processing. The harvest time for sweet corn is 24-27 days after pollination and it could be extended to 29 days in actual production. The harvest time for waxy corn is 23-25days after pollination. Research was made on sugar content, water content and green keeping in stalks. It was concluded that ensiling should be done after 5-7 days of ear picked, which was considered to be done immediately.2. Processing technology of fresh corn: Ears should be processed within 10 hours after picked, or it should not be longer than 24 hours for stored in condition of zero degrees centigrade to obtain the best quality. It is better to use steaming instead of boiling to killing enzyme to avoid sugar losses to make the taste and quality good. It is suitable to steam the ears for 15 minutes to get good taste and flavor and to avoid grain broken. It could meet the standards for the seaming vacuum of 0.082MPa. The influence result that different constant temperature times are destroyed harmful microorganisms to the product quality indicates that the constant temperature that can achieve destroys harmful microorganisms is 25 minutes. The test for the constant sterile temperature showed that 25 minutes could meet the demand. In actual operation 30 minutes could make quality and appearance good. The experiment results showed the appearance became worse for waxy corn after 65 days of slow frozen and 35 days of slow frozen. But it could be extended to 235 days for quick frozen waxy or sweet corn. After 65days of frozen stored for steamed ears, the grain seemed crippled and favor bad. It tasted bad and is not worth of market value. Butpacked corn cold be stored to 155 days to keep grain full and the texture good.3. The economic performance of fresh corn: the cost is 6% lower for fresh corn than grain corn. The economic benefit is higher for grain, stalk and cobs of fresh corn that grain corn. The benefit is 54% than grain corn considering the lower cost. Fresh seed grain and straw and cob output all more than ordinary maize from the output value. That the unit area increases receives near 300 yuan. Fresh 3 kinds in meal maize cost beneincial result processing the method analysis indicates that the per ton of net profit maize seed that the quick-freeze is sweet grain moistens 957.22 yuan, 766 yuan of per mu of process beneficial result;The vacuum is kept fresh with the glutinous maize fruit ear list ear of grain net profit of quick-freezekeeping fresh 0.2 yuan about, 700 yuan of per mu of process income. It is thus clear that 3 kinds of beneficial results processing the Fresh-eating Corn of method are very worth seeing;The notable more than fruit ear of unit area beneficial result of sweet maize seed of quick-freeze grain is processed, it is thus clear that processing to promote that the Fresh-eating Corn rises in value the synergism deeply.4, the Fresh-eating Corn social benefit: the comprehensive utilization of Fresh-eating Corn makes that the industrial chain of Fresh-eating Corn constantly prolongs. For local provided obtains employment the chance, enlarging the tax revenue source of government, the fresh corns of some places entered international market, for our country even more foreign exchanges of creation. The comprehensive utilization of Fresh-eating Corn is the agriculture industrialization, new model of development region economy, and will give play to the important effect in the construction in the new rural area of our country.
