22 kinds of different evolutionary type soybean had been studied in this paper to try to exploring the evolutionary law of anatomical structure of leaves in semi-wild soybean, semi-cultivated soybean and different period cultivated soybean. We adopted paraffin section method and light microscopic technology to measure the leaf area and the length of petiole, the layers of leaf cells, the thickness of leaves the numbers of leaf cells , the maximum and minimum diameters of petioles. By comparing the anatomical structure of leaves of these kinds soybean , we try to find the relationship between the changes of anatomical structure in photosynthetic organ and the photosynthesis rate in semi-wild soybean, semi-cultivated soybean and different period cultivated soybean, in order to provide evidence to soybean breeding.Comparison of anatomical structure of semi-wild, semi-cultivated and different period cultivated soybean leaves shows that there are many differences. The results are as follow:1 Comparison of leaf area and the length of petioleThere are notable differences in leaf area and the length of petiole among different type soybean, the tendency is that the leaf area and the petiole's length in semi-wild soybean are smaller than those in semi-cultivated soybean , the leaf area and the petiole's length in semi-cultivated soybean are smaller than those in cultivated soybean, the leaf area and the petiole's length in earlier period cultivated soybean are smaller than those in modern cultivated soybean.2 Comparison of the layers of leaf cellsThe layers of leaf cells have shown little differences in primary leaves of different type soybean. While at seedling stage and flowering stage, the trend of the layers of leaf cells is : the layers of leaf cells in semi-wild soybean those in seeding stage leaves > those in flowering stage.3 Comparison of the thickness of leavesThe thickness of primary leaves in semi-wild soybean, semi-cultivated soybean and different period cultivated soybean has little differences. Seeding stage and flowering stage, the thickness of leaves in different type soybean changed visibly, the thickness of leaves in semi-wild soybean is smaller than those in semi-cultivated soybean and the thickness of leaves in semi-cultivated soybean is smaller than those in cultivated soybean, the thickness of leaves in earlier period cultivated soybean is smaller...
