As a variety of pest which widely occur and badly disserve the foodstuff, the occurrence of the Indian meal moth has an important influence to social economy and daily life. The forecast and prevention and cure had paid more attention universally by the people. Therefore the research on the biology of India meal moth has significant economic meaning. This research contrapose the basic rule about growth and breed and livability of India meal moth under the condition of different degree of temperature and different kinds of food, a series of experimentation had been carried. Through the mensuration of length of growth under different degree of temperature, the infection by different kinds of food and different evasional material, setting up experimental population life table under different degree of temperature, summarizing the relationship between each stadium and the width of the head shell of this insect through measuring with results as follow:1. Under the condition of laboratory, the Indian meal moth were bred and observed by using biological and chemical incubator. The case about the growth of Indian meal moth under the condition of different degree of temperature was studied. The result show that different degree of temperature have direct infection to the growth of Indian meal moth. Along with the rising of temperature, the Indian meal moth grew more rapidly and the length of growth became shorter. And the speed of growth became slower while the temperature fell down. Under the condition of this experimentation, the average length of growth was only 33.5d at 30℃. The whole generation of growth from egg to imago was 41.0d and 36.9d at 24℃and 27℃. Under the condition of 18℃and 21℃, the length of growth become longer evidently, the result were 48.4d and 67.5d.2.
