This research wre carried out at Duoying farm of Sichuan Agriculture University during the year of 2004 and 2005. The experiment materials were several new type forage maize combinations, which were bred by distant hybridization between maize and teosintes. It includes two aspects: (1) Studies on yield and forage nutritive value of four forage maize combinations in 2004 year, and selected an excellent hybrid which was named SAUMZ1; (2) Studies on biological characteristic, matter accumulating and dynamic variation of nutritive value, yield and nutrition quality of different harvest stages and effects of cutting frequency, plant density and nitrogen level on yield and forage nutritive value of SAUMZ1. The main results are as follows:1. Fresh matter and dry matter yield of SC3 (SAUMZ1) was the highest among materials in experiment of 2004 yr. Which were 174045 kg·ha-1 and 22208 kg·ha-1, respectively. It significantly higher than SC1 (Zea mays×Zea mexicana), SC2 (Zea mays×Zea parviglumis) and SC5 (Zea mays×Zea diploperennis). Analyzing the nutrient composition of the first harvest at booting stage showed that SC3 had the highest crude protein content (CP) 17.57%, nitrogen-free extract content (NFE) 48.73% and the lowest crude fiber content (CF) 21.65%. Ether extract (EE) and crud ashes (CA) of SC3 were 4.30% and 7.75%. The nutritive value of SC3 was better than the others.2. Compared SAUMZ1, Gaodan-grass and Zea mexicana in 2005 yr indicated that the highest yield and nutritive value was SAUMZ1. Fresh matter yield of SAUMZ1 higher 26900 kg·ha-1 and 29200 kg·ha-1 than Gaodan-grass and Zea mexicana, respectively. Dry matter yield of SAUMZ1 higher 3300 kg·ha-1 and 6100 kg·ha-1 than Gaodan-grass and Zea mexicana, respectively. CP and CF yield of SAUMZ1 were 2788.2 kg·ha-1 and 4713.3 kg·ha-1, which were higher than Gaodan-grass (2211.2 kg·ha-1 and 3952.3 kg·ha-1) and Zea mexicana (2128.4 kg·ha-1 and 2813.9 kg·ha-1). Average nutrition composition of SAUMZ1 of four harvest times in a year were 15.1% (CP), 25.6% (CF), 3.1% (EE), 8.9% (CA), 47.3% (NFE), which were better than Gaodan-grass (CP: 14.6%, CF: 26.2%, EE: 4.0%, CA: 8.6%, NFE: 46.6%). The dissolvable sugar and amino-acid content of SAUMZ1 of the first harvest at booting stage were 9.8% and 3.1%, respectively. The Lys content of SAUMZ1 (0.41%)...
