In this field experiment, the effects of five plant densities (48000, 58500, 69000, 79500 and 90000 plants/ha) on yield and forage value and population physiologic index were studied on silage type maize of keduo 8 and foodstuff type maize of shaandan 310 of all over using at present. It was founded that the feasible density of grains yield and stems yield of silage type maize of keduo 8 are close and all are about 67500 plants/ha. Feasible density of grains yield foodstuff type maize of shaandan 310 is about 55500 plants/ha and it of stems yield is about 72000 plants/ha. In order to increase grain and stem yield in same time, we analyzed yield with digestible outright nutrient and founded that feasible density of keduo 8 is about 67500 plants/ha and shaandan 310 is about 63000 plants/ha. It is consistent with feasible density of economic benefit.The effect of density on crude protein (CP) and ether extract (EE) and crude fiber (CF) and nitrogen free extract (NFE) is significantly. With the density increased, and crude fiber of whole plant enhanced and rate of digestible decreased significantly, but crude protein and ether extract and nitrogen free extract are increased in a density extension. The nutrient matter content of silage type maize of keduo 8 is higher than foodstuff type maize of shaandan 310 that is CP and EE and NEF and general energy (GE), and total yield of nutrient matter of silage type maize is lower than foodstuff type maize. The feasible density of higher energy of silage type maize is about 69000 plants/ha, and it of foodstuff type maize is about 58500-79500 plants/ha. The effects of density on forage nutritive quality are mostly through effecting total forage yield and ratio of grain in total dry matter. Increasing density and harvesting more colony matter yield is keys of feeding maize high quality yield under yield of grain yield do not change obvious.The physiological characteristics and feasible population physiologic index of different type maize are different, silage type maize of keduo 8 dry matter accumulation is mostly collected before spin, the matter of stem and leaf and vagina is more and about 59% of total matter, foodstuff type maize of shaandan 310 dry matter accumulation is mostly collected after spin, the matter of spike is more and about 50% of total matter. In planting, silage type maize must pay attention to production of stem yield including stem and leaf and vagina, and foodstuff type maize must pay attention to production of grain yield.
