Objective:To verify the antibacterial effect of Sodium houttuyfonate on Candida albicans Biofilms and learn whether the inhibition is achieved by affecting or interfering the expression of phospholipase genes.Method:Establishing the biofilms model of the Candida albicans in vitro,calculati-ng the inhibition rate of Sodium houttuyfonate to the Candida albicans biofilms by MTT, and observe the effect of Candida albicans Biofilms by confocal laser scanning microsc-opy(CLSM).Then the expressions of virulence genes PLB1,PLB2and PLC1transcription levels were determined using RT-PCR method.Result:Inhibitory effect of Sodium houttuyfonate to the Candida albicans biofilms increased with the drug concentration.RT-PCR results showed that the expression levels of virulence factors PLB1and PLB2decreased with the concentration gradient increased, and the mRNA expression levels was completely inhibited at a concentration of240μg/mL. Drug concentration change on the expression of PLC1had less effect. Conclusion:The expression of the selected pathogenic genes PLB1and PLB2as well as the growth of Candida albicans biofilms were inhibited by Sodium houttuyfonate.
