Objective:To investigate the relations between the concentration of BAFF and IL-17and the stage of EBV infection in SLE patients. Methods:the experiment object were48hospitalized SLE patients from department of Rheumatology, Affiliated Hospital of Qiingdao University, are in line with the USA rheumatology1997classification criteria;, recorded the clinical data, serum specimens, the SLE disease activity index is divided According to the SLEDAI score indicates.20healthy control subjects from Regular Physical Examination Centre.Detection of all the tested samples BAFF, IL-17and EBV antibodies concentrations(VCA-IgG, VCA-IgM and EBNA-1-IgG) by ELISA method.SPSS17.0for statistical analysis, count data card difference of each observation index test statistics between group differences between groups, student-T test statistics index measurement data.Results:l.he levels of BAFF in serum of patients compared with healthy control group was significantly increased (Respectively642.294±542.96and285.048±312.603, t=3.256, P=0.002), and was positively correlated with SLEDAI (r=0.639, P=0.000;).2.The serum level of IL-17in SLE patients increased compared with the normal control group, and the difference was statistically significant (Respectively63.557±31.436and40.491±15.602, t=4.004, P=0.000), the initial treatment group SLE was higher than that in the treated SLE (respectively68.320±35.662,55.052±20.472, t=3.625, p=0.000), nephritis patients are higher than those without lupus nephritis (66.010±34.187,58.038±24.562, t=3.357, p=0.002), but unrelated to SLEDAI. In addition, BAFF was positively correlated with IL-17(r=0.478, P=0.000).3.The concentration of VCA-IgM differences between SLE patients and healthy control group, and have statistical significance (t=2.190, P=0.034); VCA-IgG concentration difference between SLE patients and healthy control group, and have statistical significance (t=2.429, P=0.024), and no difference in EBNA-1-IgG concentration.4.The BAFF concentration in EBV latent infection is higher than lytic infection,BAFFconcentration in the SLE patients infected by latency EBV is (594.731±636.205) higher than in the SLE patients infected by lytic infection (474.530±126.246), but the difference is no significant (594.731±636.205,474.530±126.246, t=0.926, P=0.326).And IL-17concentration is in the same trend (62.873±33.701,48.725±22.599, t=1.465,P=0.15).But there were significant difference between patients with SLE and normal group latency infection (t=2.139, P=0.041). Conclusion:1.EB virus infection may play a role in the pathogenesis of SLE.2. EBV infection may play a role in the progenesis of SLE through Th17not BAFF. The serum BAFF level was higher in SLE patients than in normal people, and positively related to BAFF and SLEDAI score, serum BAFF concentration can be used as an observation of disease activity index.3.EBV Latent infection status may be regulated by Th17involved in the pathogenesis of SLE, Serum IL-17levels in patients with SLE increased compared with the normal control group, the level of IL-17has nothing to do with the activity of the disease, but the initial treatment in SLE group is higher than that treated with SLE, lupus nephritis patients was higher than that of patients not suffering from lupus nephritis. And, IL-17and were positively related to BAFF.IL-17can be used as a predictive index of lupus nephritis, will become a new target for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus.
