Purpose:Clear the patho genesis of plateau hypoxia cardiac hypertrophy; from a TCM perspective, summarize the sydrome and pathogenesis of the myocardial hypertrophy of plateau, set a prevention and treatment and develop anti-hypoxia decotion, spread the advantages of Chinese medicine for the prevention and treatment of altitude sickness. Methods:Qinghai Oilfield production line Huatugou, Cold Lake, Golmud (2800-3000 meters above sea level) and living area (elevation 1100 m) in four regions, in these areas,we have an epidemiological investigation. According to the diagnostic criteria of acute and chronic altitude sickness, and the living habits in plateau region, to have an epidemiological survey, which includes patients with general information, jobs, labor intensity, whether it is toxic or hazardous jobs, smoking, diet, eating habits, genetic history, physical examination and other disease-related information; unified the training of investigators, standardrize for information collection of four diagnostic method, which includes symptoms and signs, tongue and pulse and other information. According to TCM standards for syndrome type; select qualified workers to carry out a medical examination, and choose the altitude hypoxic cardiac hypertrophy which meet with the inclusion criteria, establish a database and analyze them using SPSS 17.0 statistical software,to have a research about the law and correlation of TCM syndromes of plateau cardiac hypertrophyResults:1. The incidence of correlation:(1) Altitude:the percent of the altitude 2000-3000m area workers are the most, which was 65.90%; (2) labor intensity:the high altitude labor intensity is closely related to the emergence of hypoxic cardiac hypertrophy, the survey staff moderate labor intensity’s percentage is 73.55%, which meets the high incidence of the disease in high altitudes of heavy manual workers (3) acute plateau disease history and family history of cardiovascular disease:in the survey,208 cases of high altitude hypoxic cardiac hypertrophy,95 people (45.67%) appeared obvious Acute mountain sickness; in a family disease history survey of cardiovascular disease,,50 (24.04%) had definite hypertension with a family genetic history; there are 30 people’s (14.42%) father or mother had a heart attack; (4) smoking:The study found that there are more smokers with an altitude hypoxic cardiac hypertrophy, the number of is more than 73%, the smoking history is a minimum of one year and a maximum of 60 years,66.83 percent of the smoking age is over 10 years, an average of 28.48±12.92 years,46.63 percent of people smoke more than 10 cigarettes in recent one year, average of every day smoking are 13.94±11.47 cigarettes;(5) the change of hemorheology:in the survey Male red blood cell count is greater than or equal to 5.5*1012/L,which are 37 people, the percentage is 21.02%, female red blood cell count is greater than or equal to 5.0*1012/L,which are 5 people, percentage is 15.63%, the increased red blood cell accounted for the total number is of 20.19%; male hemoglobin is equal to or larger than 160g/L,which are 66 people, the percentage is 37.5%; female hemoglobin is equal to or larger than 150g/ L,which are 4 people, the percentage is 12.50%, increased hemoglobin accounted for the total number of 33.65%; hematocrit (HCT) is more than or equal to 48% in 96 people, the percentage is 46.15%.2. Chinese medical information:the top ten symptoms are forgetfulness, weak waist, fatigue, shortness of breath, tired, spontaneous sweating, dry mouth and throat, dizziness, palpitations, and ringing in the ears.3. Syndrome Distribution:Following eight principal syndromes, the number of the altitude hypoxia cardiac hypertrophy patiernts from more to less are as follows:Qi deficiency, Yin deficiency syndrome, blood deficiency, yang, blood stasis, phlegm dampness syndrome, cold syndrome, damp syndrome; in the syndrome differentiation of zang-fu organs, the most is kidney deficiency syndrome, followed by heart deficiency syndrome, liver deficiency syndrome, lung deficiency syndrome, spleen deficiency syndrome.Conclusion:1. The work intensity can increase the body’s oxygen demand, if is not timely compensated, it will further aggravate the situation which can lead to hypoxia, whcih is the cause of the disease at a relatively low altitude;2. Smoking has a greater impact of the disease, smoking can cause the hypoxia further aggravated and may lead to other cardiovascular diseases;3. The disease is often accompanied by the increase of red blood cells, hemoglobin and hematocrit;4. The disease is benxubiaoshi, TCM syndromes are mainly Qi deficiency, Yin deficiency, and chronic illness can cause phlegm, blood stagnation, the formation of phlegm and blood stasis.
