Objective: The expression of Bach2 was compared between non-small cell lung caner(NSCLC) and chronic pneumonia tissues, serum from NSCLC patients and normal samples to analyze the correlation between Bach2 level and patients’ clinical parameters and investigate the detecting significance of Bach2.Methods: Seventy two NSCLC specimens were collected from May 2013 to July 2014 in Yongzhou Central Hospital Hunan Province. All samples were with complete clinical data. The expression of Bach2 was detected in NSCLC tissues and chronic pneumonia tissues by immunohistochemistry. The level of Bach2 in serum was tested in NSCLC patients and normal samples. The relationship between Bach2 and clinical parameters, such as gender, age, smoking, histological style, differentiation degree, TNM stage and node metastasis, was statistically analyzed. ROC curve calculated the sensitivity and specificity of serum Bach2 detecting in NSCLC diagnosis. Results: The positive rate of Bach2 in NSCLC tissues(31.9%) was much lower than in chronic pneumonia tissues(70.8%). The difference had statistical significance(P<0.05). The positive expression of Bach2 was not related to gender, age, smoking and histological style(P>0.05). The positive expression of Bach2 was correlated with differentiation degree, TNM stage and node metastasis(P<0.05). The serum level of Bach2 in NSCLC patients was lower than in the control. There’s statistical significance(P<0.05). The area under curve(AUC) of serum Bach2 level in NSCLC diagnosis was 0.894, the specificity was 69.9%.Conclusions: The expression of Bach2 was downregulated in NSCLC tissues and correlated with differentiation degree, TNM stage and node metastasis. The serum detecting of Bach2 was so sensitive and specific that Bach2 could be a potential biomarker for NSCLC early diagnosis, clinical stage decision and tumor progression.
