Purpose:Take for patients who were first diagnosed as head and neck cancer in the Department of the oncology in Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of TCM,collecting the information of four examination diagnostic methods of the patients, through the cluster analysis to explore the syndrome differentiation, for guiding the clinical treatment, providing effective TCM syndrome differentiation to clinical diagnosis and treatment the patient who get the cancer of head and neck after irradiation remedy.Material and method:Collect the cases of the Patients who were diagnosed in the wards and outwards of the oncology in Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of TCM and were diagnosed with head and neck tumor. According to the diagnosis of pathology or imaging,Take these clinical data entry and promote the collation database. A retrospect study method, analysis the patients who relevant the requirements frequency symptoms, tongue change and pulse and PS project, making use of statistical software SPSS17.0, selecting 69 cases of patients who have these clinical symptoms, the final choice of the typical symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine(total 46 cases) and tongue pulse(total 16 cases), as research variables, analysis of K- means clustering. Each type of syndrome after clustering between the KPS scores were by chi-square test, single factor analysis of variance, P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant difference.Results:1.In 69 cases of head and neck tumor patients after radiation time and frequency statistics, the emergence of a higher frequency of symptoms of drymouth, fatigue, lack of strength, insomnia, giddiness, poor, dry throat, tinnitus, like drinking, headache, neck mass, weight loss, difficulty swallowing, perspiration, pant, urine yellow. The high frequency tongues are vein thin, greasy moss, pulse string, slippery pulse, white coated tongue, crimson tongue, pale tongue, fast sphygmomanometer. 2. 69 cases of analysis in patients who finished irradiation remedy with symptom and tongue, pulse representation, the use of K–means bunching method to bunch analysis, the final 69 in patients with common symptoms are divided into four categories, the first category patients showed as dry mouth, fatigue, sleep bad, dry feces, be fond of drinking, giddiness, spontaneous perspiration, crimson tongue, lacking coating, pulse slender; the performance of second types of patients: anorexia, tinnitus, headache, neck mass, cough sputum, headache, loose stools, sticky, pale tongue, moss white greasy moss, pulse bowstring or slender pulse manifestation; The performance of third types of patients: fatigue, anorexia, dizziness, loss of vitality, nausea, sallow etiolate, poor appetency, abdominal swelling, diarrhoea, plentiful tummy, pale tongue, light color coating or sticky, smooth pulse; the performance of fourth types of patients: dry mouth, headache, dry stool, urine, oropharyngeal mucosal ulceration, eyes red, crimson tongue, yellow greasy coating, bowstring or gliding pulse or celerity pulse.3. To take KPS for Chi-square Test, the result was p=0.000<0.05 that was proved statistically significant, the first category KPS was lowest and has the worst physical. Conclusion:1. The head and neck neoplasm patients who have taken the irradiation remedy are syndrome differentiations as Qi and yin insufficiency type, sputum andwet condensation, inharmonious of the spleen and stomach, heat toxin stagnancy, in total of four syndromes. 2. The head and neck neoplasm patients who have taken the irradiation remedy with Qi and yin insufficiency type have lower scores of KPS, and worst physical power.
