Clinical Study On Acupuncture Treatment Of Cervical Spondylosis Of Nerve Root Type By Dialectical Meridian Acupoint

Objective: 1.To observe the clinical efficacy of the acupuncture therapy using the dialectical meridian acupoints selection method to Cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. 2.To observe the difference in efficacy between this acupoints selection method and the conventional clinical method.Methods: 83 cases involving patients with CSR met the diagnostic criteria were randomly divided into two groups, and among this 24 cases were removed because of the reasons such as the lost of follow-up and the use of analgesics. Finally 59 cases were included for statistical analysis.The treatment group of 29 cases used the dialectical meridian acupoints selection method, and the control group of 30 cases used the conventional acupoints selection method.All the data was collected three times,respectively at the hospitalisation,the end of a two-week-treatment and one month after leaving the hospital.The same acupuncture techniques were used in both groups after the acupoints bring about the desired sensation.The duration of acupuncture therapy was set at 30 minutes a day,6 days a week with one day rest, and the final effect were observed after 2 weeks.Clinical symptoms and signs were evaluated by a 20-points Scale and the intensity of pain was evaluated by VAS,The evaluation standard was based on the file named the standard of diagnostic efficacy of the TCM diseases published by the State Pharmaceutical Administration.Results: It was significantly better to use the dialectical meridian acupoints selection method curing CSR than the conventional acupuncture therapy in lower the intensity of pain and clinical symptoms, and this method achieved a much higher cure rate(P<0.05).Conclusion: The acupuncture therapy using the dialectical meridian acupoints selection method to CSR would significantly relieve clinical symptoms than the conventional acupuncture therapy,and we can better achieve the purpose of clinical cure.
