Objective To systematically evaluate the efficacy of decoction of herbs compound recipe in the treatment of Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosisMethod System evaluation: 2 reviewers retrieved China CNKI data base; CBM, Chinese scientific journal database(VIP); Wan Fang database; Pub Med. Each database date to 2014 December 20 th was the date of retrieval. The randomized clinical trials with herbs compound recipe for treating Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis as experimental group, western –based and others therapies as control group was included in. 2 people independently extracted data. If there are differences, two people solve the problem through consultation. System evaluation: I did meta-analysis of included literature using Rev Man5.2 software, tested for heterogeneity, selected effect model according to the heterogeneity. The end effect index was showed by odds ratio(OR) or mean difference(MD) within 95% confidence interval(CI). Publication bias was tested using funnel plot. TSA developed by Copenhagen trial unit be used to search estimation of sample size and False positive error in Meta-analysis。Results 1. Total of 10 articles were included, and 619 patients were involved. 357 patients were included in Test group, others were included in control group Curative effect of 8 of 10 studies were evaluated. χ2=4.43,P=0.73>0.1,I2=0%<50%。OR=3.16,95%CI=[2.07,4.82],Z=5.33、P<0.00001;2. 4 of 10 studies analyzed the improvement of DLco χ2=0.94,P=0.81>0.5,I2=0%<50%,MD=6.28,95%CI[3.16,9.40],Z=3.95、P=0.001<0.05;3. Curative effect of 4 studies were analyzed about SGRQ χ2=0.44,P=0.93>0.1,I2=0%<50%,OR=2.17,95%CI=[1.20,3.92],Z=2.56、P=0.01<0.05; 4. Improvement of symptom of 6 studies were evaluated about Cough χ2=6.32,P=0.28>0.1,I2=21%<50%,MD=-1.05,95%CI=[-1.27,-0.83],Z=9.50,P<0.00001;5. Improvement of symptom of 2 studies were evaluated aboutChest tightness,χ2=0.66,P=0.42>0.1,I2=0%<50%,MD=-0.54,95%CI=[-0.78,-0.31],Z=4.53、P<0.00001;6.Improvement of symptom of 2 studies were evaluated about Spontaneous,χ2=0.25,P=0.62>0.1,I2=0%<50%,MD=-0.21,95%CI=[-0.38,-0.03],Z=2.34、P=0.02<0.05;7. Improvement of symptom of 4 studies were evaluated about Fatigue,χ2=6.28,P=0.10>0.05,I2=52%>50%。MD=-0.88,95%CI=[-1.31,-0.45], Z=4.01、P=0.0001<0.05;8. The evaluation of Respite, Short of breath, Tongue, FEV1 and 6minu Tewalking test had significant heterogeneity, the meta-analysis was not utilized; the meta-analysis of FEV1% and FEV1/FVC confirmed the truth of that P>0.05.Conclusion Efficacy of decoction of herbs compound recipe in the treatment of Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis gained acceptance. The concrete performance was that the DLco, SGRQ, Cough, Chest tightness, Spontaneous, Fatigue improved very well and FEV1% and FEV1/FVC had no statistical difference. The more high quality randomized controlled trials should be researched to prove if herbs compound could improved the effect of treatment about Respite, Short of breath, Tongue, FEV1 and 6minu Tewalking test.
