The purpose of this research is to obtain the data of drug residue and cross contamination in feed production within the typical feed plants, to develop the effective control measures for cross contamination. The drug residue and cross contamination were tested in the selected representative production systems of typical premix feed mill, formula feed mills and aquatic feed mill. The preventive and control measures for cross contamination were researched. The results are as follow:1) In additive pre-mixed feed mill, feed samples which contain chlortetracycline, flavomycin or salinomycin were collected at the bottom of mixer, the mouth of baler, and detected. The results showed that there existed the drug residue in the equipments which causes cross-contamination in the next batches of drug-free feed products; Drug cross contamination level decreases with the increament of production batch of drug-free feeds. The flushing can effectively reduce the drug residue and cross contamination. In the capacity range of mixer, the bigger the flushing volume, the better the flushing results.2) In aquatic feed mill, feed samples which contain flavomycin were collected at the bottom of mixer, the head of scraper, the base of bucket elevator and the mouth of baler and detected. The results showed that there existed the drug residue in the equipments which causes cross-contamination in the next batches of drug-free feed products; Drug cross contamination level decreases with the increament of production batch of drug-free feeds.
