Study On Management Models For Main Ornamental Bamboo In Hunan

Based on the investigation and analysis on the chief ornamental bamboo species in Hunan, this research, after the observation to the three kinds of chief ornamental bamboos, applies the theory and method of systematic scientific study of integrating qualitative estimation with quantitative analysis, microscopic analysis with macro-integration, as well as field survey with model prediction, utilizes the way of statistical analysis, like the mathematical statistics, multivariate statistics, etc. to research on the site type, rules of shooting period, height growth of bamboo shoot and young bamboo and the reasonable stand density of the bamboo business of the chief ornamental bamboo species, such as Phyllostachys bambusoides, Pseudosasa amabilis and Chimonobambusa quadrangularis. In addition, the business mode of the main ornamental bamboos in Hunan is proposed on basis of this. The research results are as follows:1) By studying the relation between the site factor and the growth of Phyllostachys bambusoides, Pseudosasa amabilis and Chimonobambusa quadrangularis, we know that the altitudes suitable for their growth are 800-1200m,500-800m & 500-1000m, at which the bamboos are able to grow well in the deep, loose and fertile soil. During land selection, the shady slope, half shady slope, conservative slope, middle and lower part of the slope, the valley and territorial land are preferred.2) The shoot emergence period of the chief ornamental bamboos Phyllostachys bambusoides, Pseudosasa amabilis and Chimonobambusa quadrangularis are the first ten days of May to that of June, the last ten days of Apr. to the first ten days of June, and the first ten days of September to the last ten days of November, respectively. The shoot sprouting lasts about 30 to 70 days. The degenerated shoot rate is about 15%. The bamboo shoots sprout early and the survival rat is higher. In the final stage, the survived bamboos are relatively shorter.3) By observing the growth process of 30 sample bamboos, we realize that the height growth of the shoots and young bamboos of the three kinds of ornamental bamboos reflects the "S" Type growth characteristics—"Slow-fast-slow". By means of selecting the three "S" type mathematical models and utilizing the SPSS software for simulation, the conclusion is obtained that Logistic equation model fits for Phyllostachys bambusoides and Pseudosasa amabilis, while Gompertz equation model fits for Chimonobambusa quadrangularis. The goodness of fit R2 of the model of fit of various bamboo species is up to 0.996 and above, with a very significant correlation.4) Utilizing the number of living stems, number of new bamboos, the average diameter breast height and the mean height of each standard land, we are able to fit the relation among the stand density and the number of the new bamboos, mean height and the mean diameter breast height with the help of the statistical analysis software SPSS. Their relation is in accordance with the polynomial regression model of y=B0+B1x+B2x2. Furthermore, the P value of the model of fit is in a extremely significant level. From the result of research, we can see that the reasonable stand densities of the Phyllostachys bambusoides, Pseudosasa amabilis and Chimonobambusa quadrangularis are 650—800/mu,700—900/mu and 1000—1200/mu.5) By researching on the site type, growth type (rules of shooting, rules of height growth of bamboo shoot-young bamboo, the relation among the stand density and the growth of new bamboos, average diameter breast height and mean height), the business mode of the ornamental bamboos in Hunan featuring on Phyllostachys bambusoides, Pseudosasa amabilis and Chimonobambusa quadrangularis is proposed, taking the business target of realizing the ornamental values and environment beautification into account.
