Assessment Of Forest Ecosystem Services In Dalian City

Forest ecosystem service function refers to the human survival of natural environmental conditions and effectiveness of the formation and maintenance of forest ecosystem and ecological processes, providing ecosystem services mainly in aspect of water conservation, conservation of soil, carbon sequestration and oxygen release, accumulation of nutrients, purification of the atmosphere, forest protection, biodiversity conservation and forest recreation areas. The economic value of objective measure of the forest ecosystem service helps decision-making departments bring forest resource accounting as soon as possible into the national economic accounting system and also has an important meaning for the effective protection and the scientifically use of the forest resources. This paper, making Dalian, Liaodong hilly areas as the study area , based on the land-use graphical data of study area in 2003 , statistically analyzing Dalian City's forest resources and the spatial distribution, and then cited a large number of domestic and international basic research data in forest ecosystems, applied the standard appraisal method " Appraisal Standard of Forest Ecosystem Service "(LY/T1721-2008)issued by State Forestry, supported by the GIS spatial analysis techniques, makes an quantitative appraise of the forest ecosystem service function and its spatial difference in Dalian, reached the following important conclusion:(1) The total forest area of Dalian in 2003 is 375,290.4 hm2, including woodland, open forest land, shrub land and other forest area , accounted for the total forest area of the city 79.2%, 10.5%, 8.5% and 1.8%. Dalian forest resources mainly concentrate in Zhuanghe, Wafangdian and Pulandian and accounted for the total Dalian forest area of the city 39.5%, 22.5% and 21.7%.(2) The economic value of forest ecosystem service amounts to 262.74×108 Yuan /a in Dalian, among which water conservation, conservation of soil, carbon sequestration and oxygen release, forest nutrient accumulation, air purification, forest protection, biodiversity and forest recreation that 8 kinds of the economic value of ecosystem services ratio respectively was 26.59%, 12.58%, 32.38%, 0.59%, 3.78%, 0.01%, 23.31% and 0.76%. According to the 8 kinds of the economic value of ecosystem services, the successive order is following: carbon sequestration and oxygen release > water conservation > biodiversity > conservation of soil> air purification> forest Recreation > forest nutrient accumulation > forest protection. (3) The ecological barriers of Dalian ---Zhuanghe, Pulandian and Wafangdian , have a significant forest ecosystem services. The respective value of the ratio was 35.74%, 22.68% and 24.25%.While the economic value of the ratios of the forest ecosystem services in Changhai County, Jinzhou District, Port Arthur area, Ganjingzi District, Shahekou District, Xigang District, and Zhongshan District were 0.97%, 6.91%, 4.99%, 3.30%, 0.20%, 0.38% and 0.58%.
