Sapium sebiferum (L.) Roxb., Euphorbiaceae (Euphorbiaceae) is a Chinese tallow tree (Sapium) deciduous tree, growing in Hubei, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Guizhou, Hunan, Jiangxi, and Henan provinces of China. Chinese tallow is a traditional Chinese medicine, with a variety of pharmacological activities. Many studies indicated that tallow has molluscicidal activity and its extraction has potential of future molluscicides. Chinese tallow is rich and variety in our country, especially cultivated in Jiangxi province which have as many as a dozen. This research taking the method of immersion poisoned to study the peach Tallow, Yunnan pink woodsorrel Tallow, big grain grapes Tallow, Yushan large grain pink woodsorrel Tallow, big chicken feet, Zhejiang pink woodsorrel Tallow, centipede Tallow, Ganfeng NO.1, 3 and 4 etc, in 10 varieties and leaves Tallow. Chinese Tallow (Sapium discolor) leaf ethanol extract of the molluscicidal activity. The results shown that the Chinese tallow tree species and red tallow leaves ethanol extract of snails have certain toxic effects, but centipede tallow, Ganfeng NO.1 and big chicken feet have the strongest cytotoxic effects.To study the material basis and mechanism of the Tallow molluscicidal activity furtherly, the research use organic solvent extraction, multi-step extraction and column chromatography method to study Ganfeng NO.1 leaves and ethanol extract Parts of ethyl acetate systematically and identificate structurally, twelve compounds were isolated, according to compounds of the physical and chemical properties and spectral characteristics, seven compounds were identified which named:β-Sitosterol (C29H50O;1);β-Stigmasterol(C29H48O;2); 3, 4, 5-Trihydroxy-1-cyclohexene-1-carbox -ylic acid (C7H10O5; 3); Kaempferol (3, 5, 7, 4'-Tetrahydroxyflavone; C15H10O6; 4); Quercetin;(2, (3, 4-Dihydroxyphenyl)-3, 5, 7-trihydroxy-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one; C15H10O7;5); Isoquercitrin; Quercetin-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (C21H20O12; 6); Astra -galin; Kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (C21H20O11; 7); Rutin; Quercetin-3-O- (6''- O-α-rhamnopyranosyl)-β-D-glucopyranoside (C27H30O16; 8). Many ethanol extract of the molluscicidal activity in Chinese tallow leaves firstly screened and molluscicidal effective of Chinese tallow varieties were identified which provides a basis species selection for control the spread of the lake plant trees. On the chemical constituents of Chinese Tallow leaves, an initial basis was provided to clarify the material basis of its toxic effect.
