| Different from the other Jujubes, Ziziphus jujube has been quite popular in recent years for its excellent taste and abundant nutrition which has a huge potential in terms of marketing.This thesis is mainly about Qinbao winter jujube and how it was selected from the Hua Xia jujube and brought to the area of Xi an. It was approved by the committee of Shaan Xi Forestry Bureau. This thesis is based on the experiments of Ziziphus jujube operated in the county of Gaoling and Huxian to get a systematic data of its shape and properties, phenological period, yielding ability, adaptability and the Cultivation techniques.A single fruit of Ziziphus jujube overweighs Zhanhua Winter Date by about 6 percent. More water content is contained. It also contains more soluble solid state material and more sugar content than Zhanhua Winter Date by a margin of about 0.6 percent and 1.2 percent respectively. The general acid content and Vc content are basically less. It is more tasty and crispy than the Zhanhua Winter Date. Because of its high adaptability, mass plantation of Ziziphus jujube is possible in the farmlands of Xi an and according to the data obtained from the experiment, it has a higher output of about 2.8 percent per 667 square meters than the Zhanhua Winter Date.During the research, the author has observed the phenological period of Ziziphus in the farmland around Xi an and has concluded a systematic method in the growth of Ziziphus jujube. In the conclusion the author has pointed out that the most suitable shape for Ziziphus jujube is the shape of heart. It has been proven that girdling is better than ring peeling on main trunk in terms of more fruit bearing. Through the experiment of sun shading, it has been proven that sun shading has no obvious effect to the fruit bearing of Ziziphus jujube. According to the research, there are about 10 kinds of injurious insect which could do serious damage and the preventive treatment has also been concluded. In order to extend the storage period of the fruit, the newly invented antistaling agent (1-MCP) is strongly recommended to the farmers. The Ziziphus jujube can be stored as long as 90 days at the temperature of freezing point with a ratio of good shape of fruits as high as 92 percent. |
