Duck Paramyxovirus is a member of the order Mononegavirales in the family Paramyxoviridae and has been designated an Rubulavirus. Paramyxovirus infected chicken only and waterfowls were resistant to the virus before. However, many strains had been isolated from geese by Wang yongkun first in 1997 and proved to Avian Paramyxovirusâ… . Thus, the theory that Paramyxovirus never infected waterfowls is changed. In recent years, the infection of Duck Paramyxovirus was on the rise, which was lead to substantial loss in the poultry industry. Studying on Pathogenicity of duck Paramyxo- virus has great importence in controlling Duck Paramyxovirus disease and protecting the development of ducking industry. We collected the disease ducks, analyzed this disease from the epidemiology, clinical symptoms and pathological change, and study on the virus isolation, serological identification, virulence determination, etc. The F fusion gene of Duck Paramyxovirus virus strain isolated from Weifang has been sequenced and analyzed. We had done the homology comparison with Newcastle disease virus. Inoculated susceptible ducks by the isolated virus strain, collected duck cloacal and throat cotton swab regularly. Detected the virus by NDV fluorescent quantitative PCR and studied the time of the ducks with Paramyxovirus virus and the Detoxification law. The results showed that the suspected disease virus strains isolated from ducks had hemagglutination and inhibition antibody to Newcastle disease virus. The virus was initially classified in paramyxovirus duck and named WFNDV. It was a virulent strain after toxicity identification. WFNDV was similar to Newcastle disease genotypeâ…¡(Me/Ve) in genotype except of amino acids in 17 sites, I instead of V, which.was different from previous strains after homologous comparison. The virus were injected into 8-day-old ducks and emission drug peak was reached seven days later. 16-day detoxification has basically ended. No attack ducks could be infected with virus by contact with infected ducks. The study demonstrated that we mastered characteristics of paramyxoviruses and regularity of different post-detoxification and these provided the basic data for the diagnosis, quarantine and control.
