Forest fires is a serious threat to human life and the property security, however the monitoring result of the traditional forest fire monitoring method is not very ideal. Since the 1990s, the WSN (wireless sensor network) technology evolved, and its advantages-low power consumption, low cost, distributed and the organization, have been widely recognized in many areas. Especially in the unattended special field, such as environmental monitoring and disaster warning etc, the WSN with incomparable advantage has been highly valued by the domestic and foreign relevant fields gradually. In this case, the researchers put forward the application of WSN in forest fires real-time monitoring system.Because of the nodes of the WSN used in forest fire monitoring cann't replace battery frequently, the life of each node power supply will directly affects the life of the WSN. Therefore, the problem of node's power supply hindered the development of WSN greatly. As a renewable new energy, solar energy has its irreplaceable advantages, especially suitable for unattended situations. These advantages make it the preferred power source for WSN.In this paper, the WSN node power supply system for the study, based on the analysis of the node hardware and power consumption, this article studied on the WSN node power system for forest monitoring, designed a node solar power system on the basis of analysis of the sensor node hardware and energy situation. The system adjusts the input voltage according to different requirement of the load by step-up-down circuit, compares the voltage between solar cells and energy storage device, then the one with higher voltage supply for the system. Moreover, when the solar radial is inadequacy, the system ensure the power supply through step-up circuit.The power supply system experiment is an important part of the system design. Through the simulation and field measurement and analysis of the various local solar radiation energy data, this paper described the change rule daily and monthly of the various data of solar radiation, and combined with the battery power test for the wireless sensor network, analyied the work situation of solar energy power supply system, and proved the system applied in wireless sensor networks feasibility and stability.
