In this paper, we studied the Ring Expressway in Hohhot, selected the TM, ETM remote sensing data of 1987,1997,2007 and QuickBird data of 2009, used 3S technology, field surveys, sampling methods and other methods to carry on research the urban green space landscape pattern dynamics of plant community characteristics in Hohhot. The results shows that landscape pattern of Hohhot has a significant changes under different the degree in 1987-2007,the community characteristics of the Functional Areas is obviously in 2009, Mainly as follows:(1) First, green area and the forest coverage rate increased significantly betweer 1987-2007; Then, the Landscape fragmentation occurred a significant change during 1987-2007, especially in 2007, while the integrity of Green Ecological is best in 1987 and the green landscape saved more complete in 1997.(2) Take QingCheng Park for example, tree-shrub layer is the matrix, it has a greater influence on the park green space than herb layer, the degree of fragmentatior in herb layer is more seriously than tree-shrub layer. Take the campus green in Inne Mongolia University for example, tree-shrub layer is still the matrix, but tree-shru(?) landscape is scattered, so it should be further strengthened tree-shrub laye construction in campus. Residential Area, take universities Garden for example, tree shrub layer is still the matrix in the green space, it can effectively increase th landscape heterogeneity in residential. Subsidiary Green, take Xinhua Square fo example, it is different from above, herbaceous layer is a matrix in subsidiary Green Landscape, while the distribution of tree-shrub layer is closely to natural conditions.The comparison for landscape diversity of green space in different functional areas is:Subsidiary Green> Parks> Campus Green> Residential Area. The comparison of uniformity for green space in different functional areas is:Subsidiary Green> Parks> Campus Green> Residential Area.(3)The survey for greenbelt in Hohhot area as below, the vascular plants were 32 families,66 genera,94 species。Among that 53 species are native plants, this result shows the feature that native species is the main body in Hohhot Urban Green, and introduced species is abundant.In different functional areas for green space, the number of green plant species in residential areas is largest, the parks and campus followed, sub green space is least. In different functional area, the richness of herb is higher, which is the highest in residential green. Shrub evenness is highest, trees followed, while grass is minimum. The diversity of tree layer is the highest, shrub layer Secondly, and the herb layer is minimum.The species richness of different plant in functional areas was:Parks> subsidiary Green> Residential Area> campus green space; shrubs:Residential Area> subsidiary Green> Parks> campus green space; herbs:Residential Area> Parks> Subsidiary Green> Campus Green.The species evenness of different plant in functional areas was:Residential Area> Campus Green> subsidiary Green> Parks; shrubs:Parks> Residential Area> subsidiary Green> campus green space; herbs:Residential Area> subsidiary of green> Campus green spaces> Parks.The Shannon Wiener diversity index of different plant in functional areas was: Parks> Residential Area> subsidiary Green> campus green space; shrubs:Residential Area> subsidiary Green> Campus Green> Parks; herbs:Residential Green> subsidiary Green> Campus Green> Parks. In consideration of the landscape pattern of the current status and plant community characteristics in this research area, we used remote sensing data and the analysis of economic statistics, and point out the factor that led to rapid fragmentation of green space is socio-economic drivers, meanwhile, we also discussed green landscape planning regulation measures in Hohhot and local plants of urban greening in establishing effective screening, so as to establish the stability of native plant species with Hohhot city special features of the green landscape was put forward.
