As the highlight of grassland ecological value and the increase understanding of grassland, the modern management of grassland resources and grassland ecological information had become an important research direction of pratacultural science, and also was the urgent needs of grassland resources sustainable use and keeping grassland ecology balance. The management of grassland ecological information, grassland resources and the other information related mostly was still based on two-dimensional tables or two-dimensional electronic map at present. But along with the rapid development of information technology, the requirements of high level information management was increasing gradually. Based on the planar grasslands information management technology and method cannot meet the actual needs of production and management. More and more People need to manage, inquire and analyse grassland ecological information, and even aid decision-making in 3D-visualization. However, The system of information management really suitable for grassland information management was yet to be established. One of the important reasons is due to exist some technical problems which haven't been effectively resolved. Grassland ecosystem had multiple attributes (coordinates, terrain, vegetation, soil, climate, animal, microbial) features. Base on the existing technology it did not facilitate embedding complex and varied grassland ecological information in 3D- virtual environment. Therefore, how to organize and manage complex and diverse grassland resources, ecological information and geographic space information would become one of the key technology urgently to be solved in 3D-virtual grassland space.Based on Xilin Gol grassland as demonstration area, comprehensive use of grassland ecology principle, 3D-GIS technology, remote sensing technology, database technology, software technology and the other modern related technology, to discuss how to organize multiple spatial information and attributes information, to search the relationship of multiple ecological information and 3D-virtual terrain model, then to obtain the multivariate ecological information effective management mechanism. Through ecological information screening, data integration, software module design (coordinate transformation, information query, outputting module) and so on a series of research method, the study successfully made eight kinds of grassland ecological information overlaid, and embedded them into 3D-virtual grassland terrain model. Because any point in three-dimensional space associated with eight kinds of ecological information, it can inquire multiple attribute information in three-dimensional space quickly. Obtaining important information such as geographic coordinates, geodetic coordinates, grassland type, soil type, annual average temperature, annual average precipitation, main grass seed, administrative region and county administrative boundaries etc only was by means of mouse. The problem of the multiple grassland ecological information and geographic information associated with three-dimensional space effectively was solved.The result of research showed that: the solutions of management technology make data organization rational, storage space savable, the efficiency of data access high; The software design and information management module was scientific. After grassland ecological information being embedded in 3D-virtual grassland space the system is still stable, running fast, rendering rapidly. The precision of map layers overlaying is high. The technology is not only the foundation of 3D-virtual grassland ecological system establishment, modern information management of grassland resources, meanwhile it had profound significance for digital grassland construction.
