The silicon is one of the essential nutrient elements for achieving high yield in rice production. Therefore, a highly effeicient liquid type of silicon-potash fertilizer(LSP) was used as special material in this study and it's effects on the characteristics of lodging resistance and yields in 10 hybrid rice varieties were studied. The main results were as follows:1. The application of LSP fertilizer could promote the Si and K uptake by hybrid rice. And the application time of fertilizer had effects on the contents of Si and K, the content of Si in stem and the the contents of K in leaf, sheath and stem were increased significantly by applying LSP fertilizer at the forth upper leaf stage, while the content of Si in stem was just increased significantly at the third upper leaf stage. Within the range of the LSP fertilizer application rates(0~4500mL/hm2), the contents of Si and K in stem and sheath were increased with the fertilizer application.2. Applying LSP fertilizer could improve logging resistance of hybrid rice. And mainly lied in shortening the length of the first and second basal internodes, improving the plant biomass and the dry weight of plant organs, increasing unit length dry weight of the basal internodes, promoting dry matter output and transfer rate of stem and sheath. The application of LSP fertilizer improved the resistant press per plant of rice, reduced the lodging index during the ripening stage, and the treatments of 3000mL/hm2 and 4500mL/hm2 had better effect.3. The application of LSP fertilizer could increase the chlorophyll content in functional leaves and decrease the MDA content. And the best effect was gotten when the application at the period of forth upper leaf.4. The grain yield of hybrid rice could increase significantly by applying LSP fertilizer. In contrast experiments, the yields of early hybrid rice, late hybrid rice, medium hybrid rice inceresed 1.65%,6.65%,5.75% respectively, and the increasing of grain number per spike and seed setting rate were the main reasons to yield increasing. Compared with blank(omL/hm2), the grain yield of Y liangyou No.1 increased 10.3% averagely, At the amount of 3000~4500mL/hm2, the highest yields of Luliangyou 996 and C liangyou 396 were obtained, and increased by an average of 5.40% and 4.87% respectively.5. The optimized stage of LSP fertilizer application was the period of forth upper leaf, meanwhile the most economical amount was 3000mL/hm2.
