In this paper, seven strains of triploid clones from Lang fang and Shandong were measured and analyzed by using the national standard method in order to select regional suitable strains. Meanwhile, Near Infrared Spectroscopy was introduced to the analysis of triploid Populus tomentosa for the first time. A reliable reference to the research of raw material analysis method was offered in this paper.The main results of this dissertation were as follows:1. Kappa numbers of paper pulp obtained in the same technological conditions were determined using the national standard method and the spectrum of corresponding samples was collected by framework. After making kappa numbers of the paper pulp and its spectrum (full spectrum) for Partial least squares regression, the near-infrared mathematical model of kappa numbers in triploid white poplar was established. The RMSECV value was 1.06 with the correlation coefficient R=94.94%. The external validation correlation coefficient:94.91%, indicating there existed a close correlation between kappa numbers of triploid white poplar paper pulp and near-infrared spectroscopy. Thus it is possible to use near-infrared spectroscopy to determine the kappa numbers of triploid white poplar paper pulp in the future.2. Compared the model of different spectrum (pulp,paper,wood particle(40-60mesh))with kappa number. The spectrum of pulp pape is better than others,it shows that physical morphorlogy of the samples have have obvious influence on model.3. NIR has been used to rapidly predict paper basis weight,brightness,tearing index and bursting index with paper samples. The results showed that relationship between the paper property fitted by NIR and GB methods was strong linear and the correlation coefficients of calibration Model was above 0.85,RMSECV and RMSEP were very small.4. The widths of annual rings reaches its maximum point in its 5-6years old and largest volume increment is in its 8 years old.5. The results show that strains of BT-17(â…¡) and 66 have outstanding performance and its supposed economic harvesting age for the pulp and paper making industry is 8 years.
