In this paper, six strains of triploid clones from Lang fang and Shandong were measured and analyzed by using the national standard method in order to select regional suitable strains. Meanwhile, the paper introduces Near Infrared Spectroscopy to the analysis of triploid Populus tomentosa for the first time. The paper offers a reliable reference to the research of raw material analysis method.The results show that strains of 51L-3LF,51L-7 andâ…¡have outstanding performance. On one hand, their holocellulose and a-cellulose content were very high (Holocellulose contents are 83.99%,84.72% and 84.26%;a-cellulose contents are 48.39%,45.19% and 51.37%, respectively). On the other hand, their lignin, extractives and ash content are low (lignin contents are 20.66%,19.81% and 20.21%; Benzene-ethanol extractives contents are 5.57%,5.93% and 6.42%; 1%NaOH extractives contents are 12.49%,12.58% and 13.46%;ash contents are 0.29%,0.26% and 0.29%, respectively). In addition, the fiber length of three strains is much longer than the others (1.013mm,1.164mm and 0.974mm, respectively). They have larger length-width ratio(41.35,43.27 and 39.92, respectively). Distribution of fiber was even and orderly. More than 80% of the fiber is distributed between 0.5mm and 1.4mm.Therefore the three strains can be used as the preferred object.Near Infrared Spectroscopy has been introduced into the analysis process of papermaking raw materials successfully with its unique merits--high efficiency and taintless. The paper shows that:(1) Holocellulose, a-cellulose and lignin have smaller RMSECV value (0.53,0.85 and 0.61, respectively) and higher R2 value (89.38%,89.14% and 88.83%, respectively). These dates show that: the NIR model predicted value and chemical value have high relativity. NIR model has a high credibility.(2)Although hot water extract has the minimum RMSECV value (0.22), its coefficient of determination is very low (63.22%). It shows that the NIR model of hot water extract is not very satisfactory. The NIR models of 1% NaOH and Benzene-ethanol extractives are very good because they have high correlation coefficient (0.9449 and 0.9007) and low RMSECV value (0.536 and 0.39).(3) Coefficient of determination of ash NIR model is very low (0.8001) which needs to be improved. (4)In the external verification NIR model of Holocellulose, a-cellulose, lignin, 1%NaOH and Benzene-ethanol extractives, there are strong correlation existed between chemical and predictive value. The related factors are 0.9096,0.8799,0.8634,0.8662 and 0.8857. And the RMSEP values are 0.382, 1.04,0.944,0.873 and 0.603. These dates show that Near Infrared Spectroscopy method can be used to detect the chemical values and the test results are reliable.(5)The external validation of ash NIR model is not very ideal. Its related factor is 0.8113. The distribution of ash content is very concentrative. Most of ash content distributed between 0.35% and 0.42%, which affects the applicability of the model.(6)When the grit number of sample is located between 40 and 60, its chemical predicted value and true value has the greatest relativity.(7)Along With the increase of wood flour mesh size, the predicted value of 1% NaOH extractives and ash increase, the predicted value of a-cellulose and hot water extract decrease, the predictive value of benzene-ethanol extractives increase firstly, and then decrease and increase finally. The predicted value of holocellulose has nothing to do with the change of size of example.
